A couple years back I bought a cheap Wi-Fi OBD2 dongle and used the Carista app to turn off my seatbelt chime. At the time there was a $9.99 per month subscription, but I canceled it after the first month once my settings were changed. Seemed a little steep for a 2 min change but I’d say it’s paid for itself at this point.

Now I just went to do the same thing for my wife’s car and noticed that Carista no longer supports Wi-Fi dongles and wants you to purchase their $80 Bluetooth version. I won’t be doing that out of pure spite, but I’m having trouble finding an alternative solution.

The ones I can find that work with Wi-Fi dongles only work as a scanner/gauge reader and don’t allow you to change any settings.

Has anyone had any luck with a Wi-Fi supported OBD2 app that allows you to change vehicle settings? I don’t mind paying $10 again but I refuse to buy something I don’t really need because of a greedy business decision. I’m sure most here can relate!

Following because I had similar problems with paying the subscription fee to Carista. They also misrepresented their "one month free" policy as it wasn't actually free.

I was wondering this too. Looking at OBDFusion. It's $10 for the app, and $75 for the Toyota specific tools. No way to try before you buy, so kind of a steep ask to gamble that it delivers the beans.

I’d be happy to pay the $10 for odb fusion but I don’t think it’ll let me change the settings like I know Carista can.

I don’t need gauges on my phone they’re already on my dash. Just need to change the dang seat belt beeper..
