That sucks. A few of the kids I’ve worked with ended up in prison over the last few years. Two of my cousins are inside too along with one of my military friends. In spite of everyone’s best efforts, it’s like they were destined for the place. One of my former students who beat an expulsion hearing by moving to another district is getting expelled for the same reasons. It’s frustrating, because as soon as you get one thing going right for them, they find a new angle to screw things up. A new student was just pulled into my orbit yesterday. You always have to remember that even in a high-risk program, for every kid who doesn’t make it, there’s 20 who wouldn’t have made it without our team.

Yes. In fact our principal group met at Panera Bread last week and as I was waiting for my food one of the workers said “You look like a teacher I had” I said I am. How are you…and stated her name. She broke out in tears and said “You remember me ?” She is in a teacher ed program. I invited her to come student teach in my building. She was in tears and her coworker kept saying “This is so cool!”

I am absolutely horrible remembering names.
I have to do word association or situational indicating.
One word can make a person’s day.
    Way cool.

Thank you. We survived but half our community is without power. This is one of those situations where I am not surprised. We did everything we could and then some! But at some point you have to own up to the damage you are creating in people’s lives. They never would.

I was going to post about our cold rainy weather pattern we’re having. Then I thought, I have shelter with heat, electricity, internet, and plenty of food. Be grateful for what you have, and mindful of those in need. Thought for the day, be safe and enjoy.

We're praying this rain they're calling for beats expectations. They've got the forest fire pretty well under control but it'd be nice to get some help from Mother Nature.

    Good afternoon, gang.

I finished the hand railing posts, I'll get a pic later. I need to go drain the coolant out of the GMC and try to get a better solution back into it.

I saw on FB that some old friends that live near Mt Rainer had a terrible wind/rain storm that started yesterday. They lost the roof from their woodshed and roof damage to the barn. 2 years ago a similar storm ripped through and they had a 100' Douglas Fir get blown over and land on the roof of their family room. They just got everything back to "normal" a few months ago from that mess.

I hope that everyone from here, that lives around there, is doing ok.

Why don’t you tell them to call you when the meeting starts.
Your losing a lot of sleep.

Then they just have the meeting without me, talk about stuff I need to know, and then no one tells me.

Are they all TEAMS meetings or do you ever have to go in for "live" meetings?
