I first looked at the online inventory knowing what colors they had (and didn't have) and played it against them. Was "set" on pyrite myca even though they didn't have it. I basically got mine for $20k + 1500 in all the BS they threw in, dealer fee, Gap and extended warranty.

I hate the negotiating process and hate dealing with slimy car people. I got it to what I thought was a fair price for a good truck and paid it. Plus, I had a 1994 Explorer that was falling to pieces and driving 900 mi a week for work and it would not have lasted much longer.

I think they were in a mood to deal, as they had 2 ordered and no takers. This was right as the economy was showing signs of tanking. Gas was expensive and trucks of any type were not in favor. Plus I didn't NEED a vehicle and it didn't take much to strike a deal.

I paid 14,000 out the door 2 months ago. '09 SR5 Access Cab, 27,500 mi Auto. rear camera. The paint has a good amount of minor scratches and the bumper has a dent the size of a baseball.

Dropped 21.5 for a 5lug access cab with SR5 package, toyoguard (largely pointless), a lifetime powertrain warranty (not so pointless), and 2.5 years worth of complementary maintenance (awesome) :)
