Hmm, good point. Never really thought about that aspect of it. Guess I'll have to find some other way to entertain myself.

My schedule is way off not having worked the last 4 weeks. Sleep part of the day, up most of the night. And eating everything in the house. :D
I discovered the grocery store has way better midweek sales than they do on the weekends. This I was unaware of as I used to shop exclusively Saturday mornings before 9am.
Instant oatmeal, I love that shit. Buy 2, get 3 free. I couldn't believe it. Came home with 10 boxes.

Ever since I have lived in this house, my cell reception has been shitty at best. Usually one bar, dropped calls are normal. People that visit bitch about it all the time, especially I-phone users, weird. It's been documented by the parks dept that this area around Rogers Park is a dead zone. I picked up a cell booster a few months ago, complete waste of money as it doesn't seem to do shit. I know a few of you remember me bitching about it.

But last week, for one day, I had all 5 bars and full reception. My phone updated in less than 30 seconds as opposed to all day. Then it went away in the evening.
And it's been like that ever since, some days are gold, but most there is nothing. I am convinced the the CSU properties across the street are running something that has been jamming the cellular service. They have a high security facility in Soldier Canyon that has done environmental damage in the past. They do some freaky experiments there.
I need a gizmo that can receive and trace that shit, I feel like there is a lawsuit to be had here. FCC says that transmissions cannot interfere with others. I discovered a few weeks ago there is a cell tower less than a mile away with a clear shot to my house, there is no reason for this.

I sometimes answer without saying a word. Push a number key which triggers the douchebag in the call center to connect. Once they do I will just push another random key to keep them on the line saying "hello.... hello?"

Anything to keep them on the line doing nothing to ruin their KPIs and quotas.

Ya get bored doing nothing, watch everything on the streaming services in the first two weeks, eating is all that's left.
I worked really hard last winter to get the weight off and keep it there. Gotta start that over again, right before turkey day of course.

Don't forget. The government controls the weather.

I've heard a rumor once that high density cellular activity slows individual users.?

Also the Faraday cage you built around your house to protect you from the aliens... also protects you from cell service. :D

For the Conspiracy Theorist on your shopping list, SLNT makes a little faraday envelope for phones (also avaialable in laptop size, tote bag, etc). Approved for .mil use.

That rumor is highly inaccurate. So today, full reception, did everybody just leave the planet with our new alien leaders? :D I would not be upset with this....

I suspect the improved service may be a result of the entire city complaining about it and the summer long project that had Overland Trail closed. Maybe they finally powered up that cell tower across the street.
If you roam FoCo, and actually pull your eyes away from said phone and the yoga pants, you would see all the flyers posted in damn near every business window complaining about the lack of service. This has been ongoing for 20 some years, since the beginning of the cell phone. Yes, I was there for that invention unveiling.
City council voted to restrict the number and height of cell towers and that has been the problem since day one. Congratulate Darren Attaboy for that slick move.
The only sitting council member to require Kevlar be installed in the council chambers due to the large number of threats he received. Attaboy Darren, way to go. Your fuckin chamber door is heavy as hell and cost more than a new car.

Most of our cell towers here are no more than 2 stories in height and hidden inside a building.
The Runza restaurant on Lemay and Drake has one in their building, in the attic, as an example, not even two stories high.. If you sit in the parking lot, you get full service. Go visit my mom a few blocks away, nothing.

You guys go straight for the old man conspiracy theories, while I have actual facts to back it up. :luvya:

These seems like basic business practices and integrity. Not sure why they are phrasing it like they are doing their consumers a favor... we are the ones doing them a favor by purchasing their products. Least they can do is stand behind them with a little integrity.

I am tired of companies acting like they hold the keys, the consumers don't matter and customer service is an excessive luxury instead of the foundation of good business.
