There was a time in my life where Billy Joel's Greatest Hits, and Elton John's Greatest hits were always played at parties. There was only so much I could take before I eventually asked a hostess, "Why?" She replied, "It's safe. Nobody *hates* it."

Eventually, they stopped getting played, since they got burned out in the social circles... But I understand it. I am a fan of Billy, but I can tell you I haven't listened to one of the Greatest Hits albums in 30 years... I'll play Songs in the Attic, or the early studio albums, if at all. Never the Hits collection(s).

I have long been fascinated by bad music because I'm a producer and have spent most of my career making bad music

Everything in this thread sounds like a masterpiece compared to "Head" by Flyysoulja. It is genuinely the worst song I've been able to find and I've been trying to find the worst song of all time for a few years now.

It is a SEVEN AND A HALF MINUTE bad 'soundcloud' rap song with 0 artistry, 0 intent, 0 vision, 0 charm, and 0 effort. It's lazy and not in a cool way, in a pathetic way. The whole album is straight up ass but this song being 7:30 should be a felony. It isn't even that funny to listen to, if it were funny i could give it "so bad its good points"

If you learn the vast lore about the island boys it doesn't even add charm to the music. They're e-celebrity opportunists trying to turn a quick buck and that makes their art EVEN WORSE than it already "subjectively" is

I am TRYING to find something worse. I cant

I can see not liking some or any any song from a band like Boy George or Justin Bieber but to put the likes of the Beatles or Led Zeppelin on that list leaves me gob smacked. While there are many bands I abhor there are plenty that have at least a few songs I enjoy, often ones that didn’t make the charts but pair well with songs from other bands such as Eagles Desperado and Bad co Bad Co. I like a mix of music rather than fixating on one style. If it’s good, it gets played whether it’s Smetana, Ottmar, Buffet or the Beatles.

Somehow it brings me back to college when one of my roommates would play, "Apollo 18" by They Might be Giants. He'd put the CD on random, and all the bits of Fingertips would drop between all the other songs on the album. Fingertips was like 18 tracks making up one song....

Needless to say, he did it a lot...

    Good times ...

Guy I used to hang around with in general has good taste in guitarists..Satriani, Vai, Nuno. So when he told me he didn't like Jimi I was a little surprised. Said he doesn't see what the big deal is since Jimi didn't do it long enough. Fair but he inspired so many after I don't think of it that way.

Then again, I've never been a huge Nirvana fan and that was the stuff that was very popular in my late teens. Kurt gets so romanticized due to his early passing (which is tragic of course) but he was at best a middling guitar player, he sang horribly. I'll allow parts of the Unplugged album as exceptions however.

Bands I have grown to dislike:

Pearl Jam. Still have the tape of Five Against One somewhere, but that was the last one. Vitalogy didn't grab me one bit..and even the stuff I like on the first 2 albums get so overplayed mainstream I've grown tired of them.

Red Hot Chili Peppers. Freaky Styley is still in my rotation. When they got popular and changed their style it didn't work as much for me.

Kid Rock. See above. Love his old stuff, both before he was known and shortly after but the country thing isn't for me.

Metallica. I still loved the Black and back era. Load was decent. Reload was the first one I didn't at least like every song. All downhill. That said I saw them live 2 yrs ago and they're still killing it onstage.

    Bands I never cared for:

Never liked U2. Just not my style.

Other than the 80s, never was a huge top 40 person.

I've seen them about 12-14 times but Journey wasn't ever one I would care for. My wife loves them so that's our night out together at a concert..
