    It won't I have the tool for OBDI but it only works on toyotas with a serial data stream and I don't think the 3FEs have that

    It's rainy right now, but that's good we don't usually get much of that. I'm pumped for a full winter

    Yeah, the 3FE computer is a dinosaur, also it doesn't really know when anything is wrong/broken so if the trucks feels fine it probably is. They have like zero HP with that engine so a bit lethargic is the norm

    Yep. Stepping back in time to the stove bolt 6 days. It has a fairly recently rebuilt motor installation. It won't be going on any cross country trips. My son sold his 4-wheeler and wants to build a rig to run around here in. Him and his buds swap cars back and forth. If there is a keeper, we try to keep them in the family. The 3FE will do fine to power it while I build up the suspension and drivetrain. Our bud runs the autobody program at the HS. I remember him and his buds coming over to watch me working on the VH45 in the garage when they were in junior HS. Now they are all grown up and are kick ass techs.

    It certainly a reliable old engine. I always thought those first two years of 80 series would have been better served with a five-speed manual

    They sure would have. I don't fully understand some of the twists and turns that went on with the 80 series. Maybe it was because of emission requirements. It came out during a strange time in auto history. I don't think Toyota figured the 1st and 2nd gen Explorers would have been brought to market -- let along be a sales success. Nor did anyone see the Navigator or Escalade coming. I remember reading the profit on a Navigator was something like $35k per unit. That's a lot for badge engineering.

    @Ozark_RegCab

    The 2006 Buick Lucerne because it’s 2005 and you’re 59 and a half and planning on retiring early. You’ve lived a life of modest spending and careful planning and after 30 years of working at Dime Savings bank, you’re ready. Ready to sell your modest house in Oakland Gardens and move down to Florida with the money you make from the sale of house and a life of prudent spending, but as you walk out of the branch where you sold plenty of people on Fidelity, it’s now you’re time to ride the silver train into the sunset, because it’s 2005 and interest rates are high and probably never going down, so you’re set for life

    You’ve always had your heart set on driving a Cadillac and you’ve always bought GM except for that used Thunderbird you briefly had in ‘88, but it was too good a deal to pass up. However, now you’re older, and wiser and you realize that like Taco Bell, GM simply has 7 ingredients they’re working with to make an entire menu and that Deville you wanted, well, it would take too big of a chunk out of your retirement, because when you walked out of the branch in Whitestone Shopping Center on your last day, you realized, that this large sum of money you had in your accounts had to last the rest of your life and a Cadillac, it just didn’t seem like the best use of your money. So now that you’re wiser, you find out that all the way in Harrisburg, Kunkleman Chevrolet, Buick, Mitsubishi, Rover and LaSalle is having a special a new model, one that will combine the aging LeSabre and Park Avenue into a single, boat like fixture, that may not be a Deville, but compared to the 94 Lumina you showed up in to work for the last 10 years, it was a treat indeed.

    So you sign the paperwork and grab the keys and head home where you’ll be preparing for the realtor to stage your home, but as you dwell on stages, you find yourself in the comfort of this large, entry luxury vehicle not even minding the traffic to the Lincoln Tunnel and you drift into the thoughts “is this my final milestone? How many more times will I even experience the joys of buying a new car? Did I make the right choice retiring so soon? Will my children’s milestones become my new milestones or is this all that’s left?”

    The 2006 Buick Lucerne, because death is the next milestone

    Ha, just reminded me of the days we'd take a thumb drive and run apps off them for sites that were otherwise blocked at school

    Probably the last place to be asking but anyone know if old Disney VHS tapes worth anything? We're putting boxes of crap into my truck to take to the donation center and my wife has a big box of old Disney VHS movies that she just wants to get rid of. At least a couple dozen of them. I know Disney fanatics are like Star Wars fanatics so part of me wonders

    Well fuck me I'm definitely looking in that box again lol. Most of those titles were in there but I have no idea about the black diamond thing.
