Yep. The new system of using the lockout in setup mode, holding it back, then tightening replaces the b tension. Such a better system that doesn’t change over time and need tuning. Provided some bozo doesn’t loosen everything…
Like @flipnidaho said (I think), making sure it’s in the right setup gear is crucial. Also making sure it’s in the correct A or B setup.
The part that mixed me up the first time was that there’s two lockouts on the derailleur. One to set up, the other to drop the wheel.
It takes a minute to figure it out, but it’s really a much better system and requires so little maintenance.
I just installed mine a couple of weeks ago. Highly recommend taking it off and starting from scratch with the setup videos. It helps to know how it all works anyway.

Amen to uninstalling and reinstalling yourself. There are so many videos that show how it's done.

Pretty good deal on Ibis carbon bars. $50.
    https://store.ibiscycles.com/collections/clearance/products/ibis-carbon-handlebar

Low (10 mm) rise only. Removable end caps are an easy way to play with width. I got these bars as a freebie on my aluminum Ripley last year. I guess they still have excess. If you’re close to Santa Cruz you can pick them up at Ibis HQ which is close to trails and has a fancy showroom with all their current lineup plus Scot Nicol creations back to the 80’s, and super nice guys working there.

Anyone had any warranty experience with Nobl wheels? My brother is in it for $160 for what looks like a defect or a weird strike to his rear rim. Technically, he’s getting a free rim but has to ship his wheel, pay to have it laced up and then shipped back. Is that the norm with other “lifetime” wheel warranties?

As someone who works in a fairly large shop, ya this is pretty normal. I ride Reserves and they give you a free wheel for the first break and then just send a rim after that. It's on you to either build it yourself or pay someone else to build it.

Maybe it’s just the shipping to/from Canada that’s jacking the cost of doing business up.

Yup it's an old 26er and the handles aren't as wide as modern bikes either. I actually managed to sell it for $575, which is far more than I expected to get.

If anyone's running Magura MT brakes, this video really helps with bleeding. I've had them a couple of years now, still my favorite brake to date, with the Hayes Dominions close.
Ive bled these many times, and I was happy with the results after learning what works. But this video really helped me get the bite super solid.
It's more an involved process than others, but just slightly. IME Magura hold bleeds really well, and often a top-bleed is all that's needed on occasion. I probably bleed these twice a season or every 500 miles. Considering the terrain these are ridden in, that's damn good.

The Pinkbike comments with the Rocky Mountain guy have been entertaining. Basically a "how not to" handle a bike review lol.

    not enough.
i'm trying to find the comments on the article but not seeing it? i love my rocky altitude, especially the newest one but i can't say they're without problems. my previous altitude, i cand efinitely say the shock tune was no good for my riding. spent the entire time trying to get it to feel right. newer altitude just felt good right out of the box. so I wasn't surprised when the new instinct was supposedly suffering from the same problem as my old altitude. :/

Picked up a dedicated park bike. It was relatively inexpensive. I got out on it last weekend and it was a lot of fun. I had the wheels in the garage so they went on. I’m 6’2”. It’s a XL but I swapped out to a 40mm bar. It’ll be a Snowshoe a lot in the Spring. ;)
