Dealer didnt overfill but they messed up the oil housing & drain bolt. Which is why I started doing my oil changes, first time on taco for me. I went 6.2 Q but next time ill just do 6.0 since 6.2 Q seemed like overfill.

really easy to tell. run the motor, and while hot, check the oil. if it's frothy on the dip stick, it's been butter-churned.

we could probably fit 7, almost 8 qts into this motor before this is an issue.

Found this cool video. Its just not all engines are same, so not sure how much more 3.5 V6 could take until it becomes a problem.

Some of the videos say it would need to be full 1q+ to start hurting, but who knows.

Check it first thing in the AM. Don't start it first. pull the dip stick out and lay it on a paper towel.
it will soak into the paper towel and you will see exactly where it is on the dip stick.
they are hard to read for sure'

The humor doesn't get weirder, you just stop worrying about silly shit like 0.2 quarts of oil.

Don’t think extra half quart of oil matters that much.

Too little overage to worry about it especially riding around on normal streets . Maybe off road on a crazy incline could be an issue , and only maybe

Those low and full dots represent over a quart of oil. On the low dot add a quart, etc. Not filling that .2 of a quart means nothing to the engine. Fill six quarts and then bang your thumb with a hammer real hard. Now you’ve got something to worry about.

I’m sure you’re good. Like many here, I just buy and pour 6 quarts. I still check the dipstick but it’s always a challenge to see it correctly. As mentioned above, I’m very comfortable with 6 quarts. Enjoy the drive.

You have something there. But with my luck, doing too much etching may lead to the stick breaking off inside the engine! :annoyed:
