Are you disappointed in me for a trading in my Tacoma to get a 4Runner?

@LarryDangerfield a 4Runner back seat is barely bigger than a taco, if at all. If you want more room you need to get back in a Tundra crewmax.

Oh there will be some mods all right
You two are both two of my boys and I appreciate your input, but I am sitting here talking to someone literally right now this very second who has ridden in the backseat of a 4Runner several times in the last month and she says that saying it is barely different than a tacoma is straight up incorrect so now I'm really confused lol

How tall is she? What's her inseam? I have long legs for my height, and the back of a 4Runner is only tolerable for a couple hours. It is more than a Tacoma, but not tons more. Thing is, they are everywhere. Take your folks to the dealership and everyone climb in one. See how it feels.

She is admittedly pretty small but she said she rode behind someone my height and was much happier to be doing so in the 4Runner than in my Tacoma. Yeah definitely will have to test drive one and have everyone sit in it and see how it goes. What about the passenger seat? Do you think the passenger seat in a 4Runner is better than in a Tacoma?

    It is more comfortable, yes.

    Remember... SLOW.

Make sure you're happy with it, too.

Oh yeah, this is by no means a for sure thing. I am not going to do anything that doesn't make sense financially (at least something that REALLY doesn't make sense financially since technically getting something different is automatically dumb lol) nor am I going to get a vehicle that I don't like :) I have heard from fellas in the Wisconsin thread as well as read online that ATRAC works pretty damn good so it seems like I wouldn't have to get a TRD off-road necessarily and it's looking like if I want to get the lowest miles and newest year that I could afford that a SR5 premium Will be the way to go

Remember all the mods you've done to the truck will have to be redone when buying something else.

My Tundra is the best road trip vehicle by far.

width has never been an issue for me. I went on all the same trails as the tacos did out west. It feels a lot wider than it is in reality.

The 4Runner is definitely better than the Tacoma for putting people in the rear seats

the sequoia or GX or tundra is even better

You can sell the mods and buy shiny new ones. There’s no down side.

Somehow I'm starting to think @Shellshock is either a) working for the stealership or b) is really having issue's with the fact that you have actually kept the same truck for so long.

Have you ever been in the back seat of a 4Runner? It's night and day from a Tacoma.

Having owned both, this is definitely not true. There's a significant difference.

    I'm a big fan of A-TRAC.

The only feature on the off-road that I consider very valuable is the locker. And, you can get aftermarket lockers if you want.

But, I've been getting by without the locker for 2 years now. 4lo + A-TRAC FTW.

 nope, I didn't earn my Toyota technician certifications by not sitting in a 4Runner... Lol.

We actually have more 4Runners in the family than tacos and while the 4Runner has a little more headroom in the back I would say leg and knee room are pretty similar since both vehicles feature low seats and not a ton of seat movement options. The 4Runner still comes out on top with space but it's not much more.

The GX would be a better buy, especially used. It's more comfortable in every direction.

But a Titan would still have even more room than all of those. So....

Good thing is he already has A-TRAC on his TRD off-road.
