In Santa Cruz we had over an inch so I’ll wait till Sunday or Monday to ride. I was getting tired of dust :) .

Oh nice, I was just up there working this week. Caught the light drizzle Thursday morning as I was leaving. Glad to be out of the dust like you mentioned as well.

Headed back up the week of the 9th doing night work so Tuesday or Wednesday morning ride for me if its not super muddy!

Thunder, lightning, some new trail that connects to thunder Avery?, and a whole lot of pedaling to get back up. We did hit a short down hill trail from the one hilltop parking lot, I think fire pit to quarry. Wish we would have stayed on Boulder ridge because that’s more my jam.

the downhill from Boulder to Thunder is storyteller, it was paid for by the van building company of same name.

Boulder is the hardest trail in park from a tech standpoint.

Fire pits is a good trail to roll into some harder stuff, Blood Rock and quarry down, or Hyde.

It’s a great place, and Ebsco donated a ton of land that’s pretty steep, there’s a current trail over on the north side of the park that’s around 1.7 miles and 550’ of elevation. There going to be putting in 3 new downhill trail, green, blue, and black.

You are correct it was story teller. Not a bad trail but a definitely sketch entry with all those leaves. I had a good time and will be back with the fam. The park has a ton of other options for them.

Lake and Family trail at South Trail head are definitely easier, but as far as having less people on trail and more fun these two greens on the North Trail head are my biggest recommendations for beginners just trying to have fun!

North Trail head would be at the bottom of red road and you could start climbing up to Boulder while family does the loop highlighted if you wanted. It's right beside the lake and beautiful.

I'd be curious to hear what you think about the Manitou fork. I got sort of forced into a Manitou for my fat bike since it was the only one that really fit. So far, I really like it, and would very much consider them for a trail bike.

Had a buddy drop his old Bridgestone Kabuki Submariner off, he figured I’d strip and recycle it but cleaned it up and going to return it to him for his Birthday. Never give away your bike!
    New: tubes/tires (27”)
    Cables and housing
    Bar tape
    Seat post/seat.
Cleaned and lubed everything, might need to pay more attention to the bearings after a test ride. Cool looking bike at least, stainless main triangle with steel lugs/fork/stays. I took pounds of racks/reflectors/chain guards/etc off but she’s still a bit heavy.IMG_5189.jpg IMG_5202.jpg IMG_5215.jpg IMG_5313.jpg

It was a quick Microshift adjustment that fixed me up. 3 numbers and I'm back in business.

Although, when I have more downtime I will probably pull it all apart and totally redo it so I know how it works. But I had never even opened the app prior to this so I didn't really know what I was missing.

Updated firmware on both, changed microshift from 7 to 10 out of 14. I feel like if it had individual cog adjust that would really be perfect. It's still not 100%, but probably like 90%.

I don’t like to bitch but I’ll bitch anyway, not a fan of how many premium bike manufacturers are now bundling the high end components with exclusively a Bluetooth drivetrain instead of giving you a cable option.

At the very least, they should offer options for external routing (I'm not a fan of internal routing anyway).

This was the biggest complaint I have between the chameleon seven and eight. I bought the eight frame because it has adjustable dropouts (are they still called that with thru axles?) for single speed from the factory, but it also has internal routing versus external hard points like the seven.

I mean to be fair the internal routing isnt terrible on the SC's. Its also leaps and bounds better than a bluetooth only bike.
