It’s gonna be on the road running fine in a couple weeks. Still not the point of me getting rid of it though. Something else will go wrong, and cost me even more time and money.

Is there ever snow on the ground in the cinders?

my trailer has a diesel heater, that should be enough to keep me warm.

No, the two little storms we got were only an inch or two each. So the snow is long gone. Just been dropping well below freezing most nights.

I see. I kinda just assumed that once I went down the road of the drivetrain swap that I would wrench on it more. Like you I've had a few leaks that I've been chasing down and I think my rear main is leaking yayy...

When it is running smoothly are you going to take for another rip on the dirt?

Did you replace the rear main prior to install? If so, do you simply replace the seal, or the whole plate?

If you replaced the plate(cover), then you need an alignment tool to re-center it, or it will always leak. I dealt with this as well on a build last year.

From memory, I just replaced the seal and gasket when it was on the stand, and now that you mention it, I would say that the plate is off. Ah I really don't want to pull the transmission as its starting to snow now. But I can't see anywhere else where the oil is coming from.

My friend wanted to do the whole plate. I didn't realize at the time that you needed a tool to center the seal/plate combo if it were removed. I had to drop the trans to correct the issue.

Yeah I mean I felt the same way going into it, but circumstances changed, situation changed, priorities changed. I honestly don’t even want to drive the truck again. I would rather sell it before I break it.

Oh yeah. Usually late January into February is when we get the most snow.

Finally got some work done on this thing. 960ah of lithium installed in the trailer in a nice battery box. This trailer is built super stout. Had to remove one of the supports for the shelf, so now instead of being able to support 1200lbs it can probably only support 1000lbs now.

I picked up a bunch of 0/4 copper wire for my battery links, and for the connection to the bus bar and battery charger.

The water system needs a little bit of a rework. It has an overflow valve, but it’s either plugged or doesn’t work, and will just dump water on the inside of the trailer. The hot water heater is all plumbed up, but my gripe with it is it takes a bunch of d cell batteries. I dont wanna screw with that, so I bought a 12v to 3v step down converter, and will toggle it on and off with the switch pros. Everything will be wired to that so I can control it from my phone in the tent, or the control panel on the ground.

I’ve got one already. Nothing is super high on the current draw.

So without everything else not working even a factory Toyota ac compressor wont work?

huh? you wont be able to fit a toyota ac compressor to the ls without way more work than just retro fitting a ls compressor and most standalone ecus can run a/c independently.

I put a 40a dc-dc charger in my trailer, that gets power from the 7 pin connector, and charges the trailer’s battery. In 40a mode, I just get a fault light. In 20a mode, it’ll run periodically, then shut off, then run, then shut off. When it runs, it pulls the voltage down at the input to 11.5v, and when it kicks back off it goes back up to 13.8v. Is this charger just too big to run off of the 7 pin?

On the datasheet for the dcdc, whats the undervoltage it trips at? On the 2nd gens does the B+ pin on the trailer connector have a 20a or 30a fuse? It is a pretty long run through the truck trailer harness and then your trailer wiring. 20a is probably marginal. What size wiring are you using?
