definitely. he's some sort of staffordshire terrier mix. i definitely need to watch what he eats only because he'll eat everything, all the time if he could.

he's a good reason to check shelters first... lots of 'unwanted' dogs that are great. he was 2 years old when i got him, i suspect he spent at least a year on the street, if not the whole first part of his life.. but he was potty trained and understood basic commands, so someone somewhere took care of him up to a point and then just let him go.

he got to me through a friend that fosters for a local shelter, she's a wound care nurse, so she ends up getting the fosters that need a more hands-on medical attention. he got off the street and into the shelter system by getting hit/dragged by a truck, so he needed some attention while his wounds healed up for a few months before he could be adopted.

that was late december in '22. i spent new years evening at their house, and he curled right up next to me, and never left me the rest of the night.

the spot is almost entirely grown back in except for 2 spots at the very worse areas, right above his tail, and on his right leg. but fortunately, he still absolutely LOVES car rides to everywhere and anywhere.

 

Ouch...

So we took a trip below the Notches to check out a house. A newer house , only about 20 years old but solidly built. The problem is it had no ‘flow’, the layout was all wonky. Hard decision coming up….

On our travels there, stopped at a gas station in Plymouth. It’s in a neighborhood known for flooding by the Pemigewasset River (The Pemi).
