Pretty sure some might recall the story about getting pulled over in my previous truck for almost an hour after a league game..remind me if not.

 

Why did you get pulled over and detained for an hour? Did they recognize you from when you wrecked the Oldsmobile while driving drunk?

Got stopped around midnight on the main road. Speed limit drops 40 to 30 on a downhill, which I'm well aware of as well as police presence there so I always watch the speed.

Comes up and takes my information. Tells me to sit tight. Wait about 10 minutes.

Comes back "know why I stopped you?" I didn't. 10 minutes in the cruiser, he comes back.

Him: Where are you coming from?
Me: Playing a league match at (pub in Abington)
Him: How much have you had to drink?
Me: 2 sodas and a glass of water
Him(agitated) I mean alcohol, smart ass.
Me: Nothing
Him: You really think I believe that?
Me: Up to you I guess

10 more minutes

Him: Still sticking to that story?
Me: Yes
Him: Seems you have a prior OUI sir.
Me: Yes
Him: People like you don't change. I'll be right back.

Comes back in 5 minutes with a written warning for plate light out and a lecture. I asked politely which side.

Him: I JUST TOLD YOU
Me: I did replace the left bulb the other day, maybe it fell out or maybe the other went out..that's all.
Him: Get out and I'll show you
Me: That's fine
Him: I'm ordering, not asking

At this point I think I'm either going to jail or getting an ass beating. He marches me to the back of the truck

Him (pointing) RIGHT THERE, SEE!!! as he looks..oh never mind they are both working. I probably shouldn't have but I did say "I agree they're not the bright LED lights but that's exactly how i bought this truck new".

Him: Have a good night.

I’ve got absolutely no criminal record to speak of; I hate to say it, but maybe police are nicer to people with no criminal record?

 

The police are just like anyone else.
They are each individual people.
Some have good days, some have bad days.
Some always have a good day.
Some always have a bad day.

A lot of how you get treated will based off the first 10 seconds of the interaction.
Be polite. Not defensive.

Every interaction I had with police.
They never even knew who I was (at first), and some were good and some where bad.
Mostly good, but a few "bad".

And you know about those.

Yeah; I’ve scrapped microwaves before, but I prefer to scrap them in bulk with other items because they’re like $10-$20 each.

 

This is 1998 Honda Accord has only 53K miles, and it’s a 5-speed! The car has a clean title, the A/C works, and the current owner only paid two grand for it!
