I want to add a factory keyless entry to my regular cab 2.7L SR5 Tacoma. I wasnt sure if it was possible with ONLY factory parts. I don’t care about a lock and unlock button on my door panel. I just want a fob so I can unlock it and lock it, and have a panic button. Mainly a preference, but it would also knock my insurance down as it’s an additional security method.

Thank you for your help, I’ll have to do some looking at it tomorrow. I’ve already added cruise control to my truck, but is there anything else you have added? You seem to have done all the things I’m trying to do.

The keyless entry was the hardest to get info on but I had some great help there. I have added cruse control, intermittent wipers and installed an aftermarket radio with a backup camera in the factory location. Upgraded the front and added speakers the the rear doors. Made a custom intergraded garage door opener with a dash mounted switch (kind of like a home link garage door button)
I have a 2.5 gen so I am not sure if your Taco has the same wiring as mine but it looks like you are off to some great adventures.
I’ve only had mine for 6 months and I love it.

How did the fog lights turn out? I will be doing those in the future.

I did do some looking, and I don’t believe mine is prewired. First off it’s a 08 so definitely some loss there, second it’s a 2.7L 5spd manual. So basically as base model as it can get. I knew the regular cabs were never wired for power locks, at least in the sense that I wouldn’t have a button on the inside for power locks. I was hoping I could at least cheat that, steal components from another door and put it all in. Given that Toyota likes to make one wire to fit them all. I’m still a little unsure, I obviously wanna continue to do some looking. Maybe I could replace the whole master wire harness behind the dash. But that would only be if I could guarantee a key fob for keyless entry.
