Dont think Westcott is trying to put money in their pockets inregards to shipping costs....
If you did your DD & checked shipping rates on a similar provider from a similar point a to point b...
Call westcott & see if that accurate?
maybe they have a cheaper option?
Jason usually answers the phone & is a really laid-back knowledgeable, reasonable individual & maybe you guys can figure something out....

Seems like a reasonable logic vs losing your shit about it on here......
May have something to do with the way its packaged so you dont get a product thats beat to fuck when it arrives...
    I dont know, call them...

Fyi, I sent them an email and texted them and they never responded. Hence, why I posted here.

    They answer the phone everytime.....
Ive also got no replies at times via email & the chat option.
    Jason will answer, everytime.
    Maybe theres a cheaper option.
Would imagine you can get 4 wheels shipped to you for less than that.
Theres has to be a logical explanation, or work around.
Dont think theyre "sticking it to you"

I called. It is not a mistake and $200 is correct. He said due to its dimensions blah blah blah.

you have to pay to play…
You seem to be extremely concerned about wind noise, that’s the best of the best rack out there..

Back to options - Don't forget Sherpa Equipment https://sherpaec.com/products/rainier. I had one on my 2nd Gen and it was bulletproof. Already bought one for my 4th Gen. Nice rack, well supported. And they're on sale 15% off headed into Black Friday. To the OP's concern, the half height and full height can be swapped very cheaply.

I would recommend the Cali Raised roof rack, I have been around the block with many brands including Sherpa and Prinsu, I am not the biggest fan of Prinsu but the Sherpa and Cali Raised racks are amazing, I just recently switched from my Sherpa to the Cali Raised since it has some really cool features like the adjustable wind fearing and i must say i don't .think i will be going back, 100% recommend the Cali Raised roof rack.

The furthest forward vertical flat edge is very bulky from what I see compared to other comparable options.
Also front inst very tight to the cab, nor following the vehicle lines…
Just doesn’t look clean at all to me.
It’s the look they’re going for, but wouldn’t be my picK…

You mind doing me a favor/solid? Can you rank your top choices on what you would pick? It looks like I need to get one for my wife's kayak. I know nothing about roof racks other than if I get one I want it to have a light bar. FYI....Looks like I need to learn how to use my wife's other kayak.....I am not a kayak person.

No problem, but I’ve said it before, seeing all these various builds and knowing Wescott reputation for paying attention to detail, the Westcott roof rack is the best in the business…
I am personally not into roof racks, but out of all the brands out there I personally feel westcotts is sexiest option on the market & best built.
I’m not just saying that because I may Westcott fanboy, it’s what my eyes are telling me..
I only have one item from Wescott and it’s my left.
#2 would be the cali raised.
Like I said, roof racks isn’t my thing on a Tacoma but westcott has a sexy piece & there is no better in my opinion.
It’s not that much more compared to all the other options.
We’ve all been there and spent a little more on an item that you thought was hands-down ahead of the rest in your mind, that’s one of them..
me all people have a hard time, letting go, my money, and overthink all my decisions, if I was in the market, this was not be an overthunk decision..

i’m sure there’s other videos within Wescott designs YouTube page where you could get a better look to the detail they put into this rack, but here’s the one I originally posted.

It could be an option. Typically these thing are just going to get tossed in the bed. However when camping, I will have the gear in the bed, the bikes on the hitch rack, and then no place for the kayaks. Which is cool with me as I hate the damn things...but happy wife, happy life.

If you guys are campers, refract are a good permanent addition, and if you choose the right one, it’s appealing…
