hahahahah "PAVED" HAHAHAHAHA. Another spoiled brat!

I'm on a mile long private road... all dirt and gravel. The only paving around here is the patio.
However... being so far out in the woods is a plus, overall... :bikewhoops:

I'm all butthurt that this entire week while im at work has been beautiful mid to high 60's/low 70's cool "crisp" fall low sun in the sky weather and that this weekend is looking like a little bit of rain (less than an inch between sat and tuesday) that might hamper my typical "I dont drive my truck on the weekends and only ride motos" thing I have been doing.

And then this pops up on my feed.... The county I live in is the darkest red.... (ventura county). While I absolutely LOATHE CA for its sociopolitical/environmental policies I am blessed with the area I'm in. Came home tonight, dark at 5, ate dinner then hopped on the tenere with a sweatshirt and textile vented jacket to go to the local watering hole. Didnt even have to turn on the heated grips.

I truly do not know how yall do it with weeks/months of cold to the point of putting things away for winter.

When I was riding in Salt Lake City, Id commute year round. Grip heaters and layers were totally fine, since in town was usually dry.

Now in Seattle where it rains all the freakin time, thats what keeps me caged up. Lots of slick roads and rhe inattentive drivers are so much worse in the road spray filled darkness.

Whats "comfortable" defined as in that map? Lol.

Outside of snow on the ground (no studs and they wouldnt work well on rocks) id go ride dirtbikes any day.

Used to street ride as long as it was clean roads and not raining.

Yeah 65-86 is a very narrow range of comfortable. I'm comfortable 45-95, but I'm still riding outside of that range. Like the others, if it isn't dumping rain and there isn't snow on the roads (and now if I don't have to do daycare drop off/pick up) I'm riding.

I've felt pretty good the last 2 days. Spent a lot of time outside painting the bumper for the ARB install. Even slung a leg over the bike and rode around the neighborhood. Ankle is still a bit tight and sore, but I should be fine in a few weeks. I have my last ortho appt(hopefully) on Dec 17th.

Went riding with a few friends today. The recent rain and winds knocked a ton of stuff onto the roads, which were also pretty wet, so it was kind of slow going but still a lot of fun.

My friend just bought the S1000XR in front of my bike last weekend and I was able to ride it today. Wow, what a bike. I still prefer my Super Tenere but that XR is probably one of the best street bikes you can buy. Absolutely insane motorcycle.

Well gang, I’ve officially had the KLX300 for a year. Put almost 7000 miles on it. I’ve rode the hell out of it (and dropped it a decent number of times.) :bikewhoops:

And tomorrow, I’m gonna go see what kind of a deal I can get to trade it in for a Tenere. :D:anonymous:

Very cool. I love the looks of your bike!

That's a V1000 Convert. Torque converter. Will run 0 to 105 mph with no shifting. Has a low and a high 'gear', but noone uses it. Just leave it in high. Seen them smoke other bikes from a stop in high gear. Really. Seat like a sofa.

I've never seen that one, which surprises me because clearly...uh...this person wants to be seen!

I still haven't taken the few pics off my camera card. Guess I'd better get moving. Great seeing you again and it was a gorgeous day for a ride besides some wind gusts.

I had a nice 32 mile ride out on the dirtbike Saturday. Weather was perfect, leaves fallen all over the trails but weren't slick. It was a kick ass day. Really jived with the bike over everything.

No bike photos or gopro but I took this beforehand.

Anyone running DD SCC1 on their bike care to provide input on how well they light the ditch / down the road (and what pattern you have)?

I've got SS3 Pros on my truck and love them. My 2013 Ninja 1000 headlights, barely move the needle off of "suck", so I've been wondering how well a set of SSC1's mounted at the mirrors base would work to augment (or replace) the headlights?

Thinking maybe a SAE Fog on one side and SAE Driving (or spot) on the other side?

I'm not sold on the idea yet, but if the lights put out enough light for this use case, I may grab them during the Black Friday sale and try them out.
If the SSC1's wouldn't put out enough light for this use case, I'd just not waste my time with them.
