I bought a set of Bushwacker Forge fender flares, and went to install them. Had to remove a mud flap to do so, and when I went to put it back, I found that it wouldn't fit. Spoke to customer support, and it seems the flares are NOT compatible with the mud flaps (this was not stated anywhere when I purchased them).

So now it seems I can either keep the flares and not have mud flaps, or return the flares and keep the mud flaps. I really like the look of the flares, so... am I really missing anything driving around without the mud flaps? Please chime in with any advice/suggestions - functional, aesthetic, etc. I'm a "new truck guy", and not terribly savvy/handy.

Also, is it possible to find non-OEM mud flaps that will fit over the flares? Thanks!!

I have rexgen flaps. Worst case buy them on Amazon and get a free return if the don't work with the flares.

You try contacting Bushwacker if they have mudflaps to fit with their flares? If not, probraly have to modify non OEM mudflaps to fit. If you not 'technically inlined," I do not know.

part of the mudflap goes over the fender flare, so if you put a different fender flare on it wont fit the same

^^ This if you really care. ^^

I myself have been running the rear without mud flaps (and flairs) for years and don't care. When I start 4-wheeling there will be no mud flaps at all because they get stuck on rocks and break anyway.
