On a "points" sytem, you'll start off with additional points which helps to get you ahead versus those without

I don't mind it, I work for the college so I'm left alone by the prison management for the most part and the college forgets I exist most days I think. Folks in education are nice enough. I don't think we have any real LEOs here, maybe former but mostly just corrections officers which have very different training. I like seeing the corrections officer with the K9, Ruby is a good girl and not the typical breed for a sniffing dog. But she gets the job done, she just doesn't like the foster dogs that some of the inmates have (another program with a local shelter, the inmates train the dogs)

Must be a low security level prison? That sounds like a legit program.

 

We are medium, but our max security penitentiary in Walla Walla also has this dog program. I think the dog program is actually good for everyone involved.

 

Moving in this week

Met the next door neighbor this morning while I dropped some stuff off on my way into work. Told me that we have a bear that likes to hang out in both our backyards at night in the spring and summer every year. So I guess we are going to be getting some bear proof trash cans. Dex is going to fucking freak out lol.

 

I wouldn’t have bought it probably, but it’s still a pretty rare car to see in that condition, especially around there.

I have a friend here in Spokane that is obsessed with shitty cars, so naturally he has tons of these Subarus

 

So I think I currently have the RTX 3060 and 16gb of ram. From what I gather I should be able to upgrade both of those things. Obviously when I change views it seems to be shocking the system, not only does it immediately lose connection to the monitors, but it seems to freeze the whole PC, so I wonder if it's a ram issue too. To my brain that's more hardware than software as the problem. I still need to verify my driver is up to date though, but why wouldn't it auto update?

 

Sounds like a driver issue to me, there should be a new game ready driver for that card that includes any fixes or changes they've made for MSFS 2024. Graphics drivers don't usually self update, they ask you, because theres a chance they could break compatibility with something else so they'd rather you take that chance haha

 

It's Angeles National Forest, so USFS land. Our development is the last residential one before you cross the forest boundary going up highway 39.

Hwy 39 used to go all the way into the San Gabriel mountains and connect to Hwy 2 which is the main route across the mountains, but sometime back in the 70s a massive land slide took out that part of the 39 way up there. So it goes about 40 miles in or so before you have to turn around, which is nice because there's not much through traffic except for people going up there to camp, hike or visit the lake.


They were supposed to clear that landslide and reconnect the highway but funding ran out I guess, it's kind of funny because if you go way up there you can see the old construction equipment that just got left behind years ago when the money ran out and no one bothered to do anything about it since lol. Typical gov spending I suppose

 

Ok. I'll give it a shot, it started occasionally on msfs 2020 in the last couple months and now it's common occurrence on this new game, like it's getting worse and worse.

 

It could be a failing card, but this is always worth a shot first.

The 3060 is definitely getting taxed hard, even if you're just running 1080P but with all details enabled.

Still, you should update your drivers like Zane mentioned as you can quickly and easily do it using Nvidia GeForce app. It scans and notifies you of any available updates.

On another note, even high-end PC users are experiencing a ton of graphical errors all because the servers are overloaded as fuck.

You should download maps individually for areas you plan to fly in rather than waiting for the servers to load it for you - even with your fast as hell internet, you gotta remember everyone and their mother is playing right now and they weren't expecting as much traffic as they're dealing with.
