4th Gen Tacoma New Skids - Talons Garage

We were able to test fit yesterday, and are getting them up on our website now.

What questions do you all have?

 

What’s the procedure to change the oil with these on.

 

There is a hole for the oil drain plug. We are also adding a oil door to the front to get to the oil filter. It accidently got left off on the prototype.

We do recommend some type of oil drain valve with a nipple to make oil changes easier.

 

Any issue with these on the 6MT?
I've been emailing with your office about shipping to Canada.

 

With the front attachments, that's not going to be compatible with Rough Country front D-ring brackets. But I can see that'll be a strong place for the plate.

 

We have not tried it on the 6MT yet, and I do not have any scans of one yet.

We typically won’t ship to Canada till we are very comfortable it will fit, and we have figured out every variation out there. We would hate to spend 100’s in shipping just to find out something is different.

 

I just looked at those. You can likely use some spacers on the bolts and possibly mount the plate below.

 

I can appreciate that, your office also said no Canadian shipping until confirming fit on 4th gens but then replied a few days later saying 100% confirmed fitment on 4x4 4th gens and provided me with a shipping quote.
Glad I reached out here about 6MT as I'm not sure I specified in email.
Will the early bird pricing still apply to the 6MT once you get said scans or a truck in to test on?

The pics above are the same, except we have added a oil door on the front to get to the filter. We are going to update the photos with the oil door soon.

 

Are scans available yet for 6mt or have you had 6MT in shop to check fit since last asked?

 

We still have not come across one at this time.

I like how you recessed the mounting bolt heads with a separate plate on the back side. I would have liked that on my Talons 5th gen 4Runner engine skid...

 

We have improved a lot of things over the years for sure!
