I'm on your side here i have tested multiple bulbs in my truck including led drop ins and after trying the H9 upgrade it is the way if your sticking to the factory halogen housing. It's all perceived results nothing tangible like crash burns write ups.

Laws of physics do not care about your opinion. A bi-directional light source cannot function properly in a projector build for a multi-directional light source.

I see morons driving with high beams on 2 lane roads all the time here in GA. I am sure they appreciate a quick high beam tap from my factory LEDs. Just to remind them of their stupidity. I know I smile every time I do it.

Look, you may very well be a wealth of knowledge on all things Tacoma but your holier than thou attitude prevents you from sharing that wealth in any acceptable way.

    Please just go away.

You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make them drink it. Also, the sky is blue.

Only when it is. Sometimes it's black, sometimes red, orange, yellow, pink, purple, grey.

And if you want to get even deeper, it has no colour at all, it's just whichever colour gets scattered by the atmosphere at the time.

But that's a different topic altogether

Try placing a ferrite (3-5mm), or more than one at different location, on the power line of that LED. First, you need to remove all aftermarket LED and test by installing only one LED at a time to see which one is causing the static on your radio. If all of them is causing static, maybe try a different brand of LED? Good luck!

It's the same thing every time someone posts that they put cheap-o LED's in their halogen housings and claim they work great and won't hear any reasoning to the contrary. Despite HUNDREDS of pages dedicated to this specific topic on these forums, you still get hit with the "hur-dur, they work for me, I thought this was America" level of intelligent response. What's weird is that they aren't justifying some big purchase, they are justifying a few Amazon bucks. And it's not even a matter of opinion on something purely cosmetic, it's for the safety of you and everyone around you. People are disappointingly predictable and selfish.

I can tell what vehicles have aftermarket LED's in halogen housings driving down the road by the "don't tread on me" bumper sticker and smug look coming from the driver who don't give no damn about what others think of him. Makes it very easy to spot who I'll never be friends with.

Easier solution is not using aftermarket LED bulbs in a halogen projector housing

I came hoping to find the aftermarket LED bulb defender logic and wasn't disappointed.

We still have flat earthers and people who believe in exhaust back pressure. We can only say bless your heart and move on.

I used a diode in the fog light projector housing.

Mine illuminate directly towards the ground.

hate to disagree (again) but the fogs are showing lense flare directly at the camera lol if they were directly at the ground, you would see no flare. Also, those LEDs are in housings not designed for LED bulbs (unless they are the LED foglights from Toyota which are designed for LEDs) which is the same exact as using LEDs in the halogen projectors for the headlights.

Edit - unless you replaced your fog light housings you have halogen reflectors from the factory, not projector.

Yep. I have factory LED fogs, and they have a lense built in to direct the light.

Simple. I did it. When LED first came out, I put a set into my Corolla I had at the time. Then I wondered why my lights sucks so bad. So I figured I needed to adjust them and pulled up to a large obstruction free wall. What I found surprised me. The light was not focused and badly scattered. It was totally useless, so I removed the LED and went HID instead... ( those have thier own set of problems ). It wasn't until I read the this post ( #1 ) that I understood why the LED conversion was so bad.

Another thing to note about LED bulbs in Halogen lamp assemblies, is they might be illegal. I know they are in my province. You will fail an inspection for having them.

Thanks, that's helpful. This is my low beams and my high beams. In Ohio we don't have vehicle inspection and when I lived in Pa. it was not something they ever check. When I test drove the truck, my son and I both thought the headlights were inoperative when using the halogen, I changed them the day I brought the truck home.
