4th Gen Bronze Oxide Thread

I have a build date of 11/19 for mine. It will be quite the upgrade from my 2005 TRD OR.

 

From Black X-runner to Bronze TRD sport.

 

I really like the new Bronze Oxide in full sunlight, but it has too much yellow in it in all other situations, like overcast days or in the shade.

I wish Toyota had stuck closer to the Pyrite Mica of the 1st-gen Tacoma. Still, BO is probably the best of the current 4th-gen colors!

 

So, I have a 2023 Taco Pro that is black. I cannot keep that sucker clean! How does rain and dust and grim look on these? How's the paint swirls & scratches?

 

My last 2 Toyotas were black. My 09 Tacoma that I had for 8 years and my 16 tundra that I also had for 8 years.. they looked great when they were clean but most of the time they were not. Didn’t want another black truck again. The BO Trailhunter will be a lot easier to keep clean and so far it doesn’t seem to show a lot of dirt and grime. Black trucks are fine if you never leave the pavement

 

So I told the dealer not to touch my truck when it came off the trailer. It was pretty dusty and dirty and it hid it well. The picture in the OP is unwashed. I think a lot of problems people have with swirls and paint scratches is due to the dealership washing it before pickup. Who knows if they are using a bucket from the day before with all kinds of dirt and debris in it or the sponge they use, or if they don't presoak the vehicle, etc. I detailed it this past weekend properly and the paint quality was really good. There were no swirls or major issues. I had one or two places with debris in the paint, but not something you could spot unless you were very close and looking for it. Over all I'm very happy with this color and paint quality.

@Airborne , where did you order yours from? I see a couple of Bronze Oxide Sport Premiums in the area. One in Kingston and another in Newburgh. Lots of trucks to the North in Albany area. 3 Trailhunters in Bronze and a lot of Hybrids.

 

Hey len i ended up in kingston, the model they have there is a sport, and loaded up with the racks and bars like a trailhunter…so placed my order for 2025

 

Just got word that my premium OR long bed is being built the day before Thanksgiving. Not sure if I should be excited or concerned. Nobody wants to be at work the day before Thanksgiving

2 weeks old, needed the wheels otherwise Id go nuts. Lol

Wheel and tire specs please

 

Stock tires 265/70R17, Rays Gramlights 57DRX 17x8.5 0mm offset wheels in gunmetal. A bit more poke for my taste but its not too bad.
