Tow rating has stayed the same, I'm sure the engine could handle more, but it's the rest of the truck that isn't capable (suspension, brakes, etc). It has been reported the 4th gen tows way better than previous gens. Now, it won't return any better fuel economy over the 3rd gen, cause the engine is in boost way more. However, it doesn't struggle and rev high like the outgoing V6. This can be said about any automaker and towing.

Yes, and I very much hope your truck proves to be fully reliable.
If anybody can do it, Toyota can.

The automakers are in a bit of a pickle.
They've been under enormous regulatory pressure in any number of ways, especially to improve economy.
The regulations have been incrementally approaching the unattainable.
    Green transition and all that.
Except the market doesn't seem to want the EVs they're making.

I wonder what will happen now that subsidies to EV buyers are gonna disappear?

Perhaps even more important is the overturn of the so-called "Chevron Doctrine".
Administrative rules no longer have the force of law without narrowly defined Congressional authorization.
The EPA, for instance, will no longer be able to levy fines absent such directives.

Personally, I don't plan on ever buying a new vehicle again.
Too expensive, too many gizmos, and I don't need another device reporting on my activities.
I have my smart phone for that

My 2nd gen has been 100% reliable and fulfills its purpose.
I take care of it and it takes care of me.
At this point it's like an old friend.

The engine will probably prove reliable, but the new 8 speed automatic yea no. My truck is a 1/24 build which is in the vin range of potential bad transmissions. I'm getting some goofy stuff going on occasionally, but since it's not throwing codes the dealer said to wait it out and see what happens. Gee thanks

Took a look at a new F150, but it just didn't do it for me. I liked the 2.7V6 twin turbo, but the rest of the truck not so much. It was the only domestic brand I'd consider. I won't even look at a GM or RAM.

I switch trucks so much, I leased this one and it had a low buy cost at the end, but I will not be doing that with this one. I can start shopping at 2.5 years. Probably will get a Tundra by then.

Yea, I’d look that way too. Maybe they will shrink by then and be the NEW Tacoma. I’m liking the direction the Santa Fe and Frontier are going, but Honda just hasn’t gotten its head out its ass yet. I hope my 22 lives forever, but my 18 was a dream that ended far too soon.

My '22 was a manual. I thought it would be really cool to have and took me a while to find. Turns out I hated it and that truck ruined manuals for me. Tried finding a nice '22 or '23 automatic certified used, but it was actually cheaper to lease a new 4th gen o_O
