:pccoffee: Still Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Been to New Branufels and back this morning - had a bad wire on one of my hearing aids. It really stinks having one ear over the weekend! It just quit right after the Horns game! Didn't take them 5 minutes to fix it. So, got some gas and eats, and cam back home for a bit. Couple quick errands, water the greenhouse, putz.

We're a small town with no Sports Bars @wdb! If one of the bars had their TV on, it would have been Cowboys or Texans anyway. I just "watch" the stats on my phone.

    We're all done here.
Wife shot a 140lb doe today with a slug gun on public and I got a buck 2 weeks ago with the crossbow.
    That's plenty for us.
Between us, we have tags for another 8.
No need for that, 2 is plenty enough.
Feels strange quitting now with archery running to the end of year.

Congrats! Many don't understand that getting what you need might not be the limits. (Now, if you could just encourage those bucks to go to our friends piece of the woods!)

Went to see my Podiatrist today for the 3rd time in 7 months after a foot injury. First time I've heard "Neuropathy" in our conversations. He was trying to make an analogy relating to my age (71)
He said something like, "well with an old house if the pipes go bad you can always replace the pipes, in this case we can't" All I could hear on the takeaway was "You have old pipes"
Got updated X-rays and improved orthotics.
Next time I'm out camping in the desert I won't drink so much or wear a stronger headlamp so I don't kick something in the dark!
I'll start shopping for a big ass headlamp!
    I REFUSE TO GO QUIETLY!

My cousin is doing better. Her spleen and liver are both decreasing in size. The bleeding is better but not entirely stopped, as of yesterday. She is easing softer foods but needs to eat a better diet to gain weight. My sister is picking her up to bring her over for Thanksgiving dinner. No winter vacation planned but we are thinking of going to New Orleans in the spring. We have two car trips planned in December, one to Ocean City MD and the other to Michigan. Hope it is not a long winter. My wife, a Lions Fan, does the stats thing on her tablet. She said the NFL Ticket subscription is not worth the cost.

Good morning. The recent carpet cleaning got me thinking about watching streaming services on our not so smart 2009 Sony TV. I ordered an Amazon Firestick, Black Friday deal, and set it up yesterday. Only had issues setting up Disney+. I may tackle that today if I finish a deep clean of the kitchen. Turkey goes into a brine today. I am going to clean and set up 2 grills for cooking on Thursday morning.

Good morning all. You all know how hard it is to catch up. Been busy with the farm, my job, and hopefully new employer. Offer was made yesterday, A tad low, the numbers aren't working. Nice on the surface, but I would have to lead their team and increase their sales 208% to get me where they said I would be. Hmmm...So I did my calculations, and kicked the offer back. I will let them decide.
It's a small company, but a solid one.

The company I am with now is a division of BIG, publicly traded company...but a lot of leadership didn't get there on their merits. DEI run amok. Policies to appease shareholders and political correctness. Makes it hard to sell products that fail, can't ship on-time, and customer service that is slow to respond. Tech Help Desk has customers on hold for HOURS. I have spent the past 10 months mending customer relationships, aligning internal groups, fending off competitors that are much stronger and more aggressive. Also, internal systems that cannot mesh with each other, double work on reporting, etc. Yes...all part of sales, but this is a company with the resources to DOMINATE. Almost like they are intentionally trying to tank this division. :annoyed::rant:

So, I have been busy in my "spare time" at the farm and getting that place ...NICE.
Looking forward to a beautiful Thanksgiving day and some down time.

I hope you all have a great day and days ahead as we move into the wonderful Holidays ahead. :pccoffee:

    Good Morning Folks :hattip:.
Another beautiful day out there today :D.
The Wife is taking her car to the car wash for the monthly senior day where wash, wax and interior clean is only $20. Not worth my time to do it, I would have to charge her $50 :D.

Have a good one all and get ready for Turkey Day:thumbsup:.

That is a great price for full service wash. These modern automated car wash places make it difficult to not use them. One by us has a decent price, shaded vacuums that are free, drying towels, compressed air to blow the dust off of interior and engine bay, mat cleaner, window cleaner. I have a "membership" for $15 / month. I use it at least 3 times a month.
The tire and wheel cleaning in the wash is not so good though.

Sounds like some good huting Buck. Freezer filled and a relaxing turkey day coming on Thursday :woot:

Carl can sure use a buck or two in his neck of the woods. I have plenty of deer in my neighborhood. Problem is most end uo getting hit by a car :(.So sad it is. Last evening the wife and I were coming home and as I drove down the main street in our neighborhood a deer came out of a side street and stopped when they saw my truck. when I stopped they trotted across the street like they knew to stop for traffic. Amazing how wildlife adapts to humans:)

Agree with you on the headlight Bob. Stubbing ones toes is no fun. I spent 7 weeks on a knee scooter after toe surgery
    , never again.

Good Morning Tom :hattip:. The only thing I would do in New Orleans (again) is the World War II museum. One could spend a week in there.
Sounds like you have the Thanksgiving menu under control . Having a lot of folks over? Have a good day Sir,

Good Morning Chuck :hattip:. Looks like the "Weather Witch" has been nice yesterday and even today with mild temps. Enjoy while you can and be safe

Hi Jim :hattip:, Sounds like your company is the same as many others. It's a shame that customer service has gone the way of the dinosaurs. Business infrastructure has decreased all because of hiring practices and the almighty profit. I hope all works out for you with the new company you are trying to get into.
Enjoy the day and be safe :)

    Morning all:

Congrats on putting some venison in the freezer , we are going to be very lucky if we get a deer. My buddy is totally disgusted, and so am I, literally "ALL" of the places we hunted over the years and shot plenty of buck and saw plenty of deer, are now extremely low on deer population. The hay days of hunting are over in our area, and not just for us. :(
Just thinking, I have a 12ga Browning A bolt slug gun that I hand loaded some Lyman slugs for (look like a gigantic flat nosed pellet), if your wife pulled the trigger on that she would never want to shoot it again, I think it kicks as hard as my 870 super mag. loaded with a 3 1/2" mag.
What does she shoot, a 20ga with sabots, seems to be the way to go from what I've read and heard from a buddy who hunted Ohio.

The Peter principle and DEI are definitely not beneficial to any company!
Great to hear that the farm is coming along well.

A little bit of good news on your cousin Tom, hopefully she will continue to improve. :fingerscrossed:

Savage 220 20ga is what we have. Rem Accutips in 2 3/4 are accurate and deadly. Low recoil as well.
She shot this last week at 80...

    What's not to like?
