    I’ve seen them on a few Tacomas before. They sit right above the weather strips. Just wondering what they were called and if they have any use. Thanks

    Those would be the factory rails, you can put cross bars that would allow you to mount things onto the roof!

    There are also full-size roof rack options if you want to mount bigger or just more things overall!

    ok, they’re not corn rows …I had'em for one day …back in the day. ;-)

    to the op:
    those are not only the rails but also the cross bars. The op pictured rack shows the cross bars in a stowed configuration. To use the stowed cross bars just pull up on the top rail and rotate the bar to opposite rail.
    It’s actually a nice rack, will take a couple of smallish kayaks.

    OEM roof rack. I have it and absolutely love it.

    It can be stowed away just like in your picture to prevent wind noise, but i never bother.

    Apparently I'm blind... I can't seem to find anything on these roof (cargo) racks or loading them in my truck's manual...

    Anyone know offhand what their rated load capacity is?
