My son and I saw 5 cars and trucks decorated like this around 7:30 in Delco. The pickups had decorated trees in the bed. Could they be the same ones?

 

I doubt it; Delco is a hike!

 

That's what I figured but the cars looked very similar and all driving together. I'll keep a look out for any of them.

 

I hit 209K while driving to get Amanda on Monday morning!

The Hatfield PD posted this on its official Facebook page earlier today, and it was met with such a negative response from the locals that it was taken down within four hours! It wasn’t entirely clear if a cop took this pic or if the PD’s Facebook page stole it, but the owner of the property where these vehicles were photographed was not too happy about the picture being used.

I’ve been decorating my truck with Christmas lights on and off since 2011, and every year since 2018; I finally got pulled over in Souderton (which isn’t far from Hatfield) on Thanksgiving Eve last year, but did not get a ticket. I know that I am rolling the dice every time I take my 2-ton rolling Christmas tree on the road, but I’ve found that if I stick to my hometown and the touristy areas, the police are cool.

I plan on driving up to Bethlehem in December so I can show the truck, and I refuse to take with the Hatfield revenue generators, so I will be turning the lights off on the way up…

 

I think they should issue warnings to people with those damn light bars on with their headlights.
Those things are BLINDING.......

Christmas lights?.....No, they don't bother me at all.

 

It went over like a tax audit (or a traffic ticket) on Christmas Eve, and the police department took down the post!

 

Of course it did.

Evidently, public relations was never a thought that crossed their minds when posting that....

 

I’m still turning off the Christmas lights on my way up to Bethlehem on the first full weekend in December, because I refuse to spend a UPS check to enrich the police department in some shithole town!

 

Good idea.

I wouldn't have to turn off anything......

My mom's dog hates the Mailman, the FedEx truck and the the UPS truck.
And she hate the packages they leave too.

And I am serious. You guys are her arch nemesis.

 

Nothing but good experiences with dogs so far. There is a Pit Bull named Jax on one of the regular routes of my most recent driver, Andre; Jax loves Andre, and I had to get out of the truck and distract Jax while Andre backed the truck into driveway, so he wouldn’t get run over.

 

Mom's dog stays in the house.
But she watches the window.
She's a little Yorkie-poo.

I'm not there very often.
But my mom order a lot of stuff for Christmas.
And she puts a sigh out asking "Do not ring the door bell".
But it doesn't matter, the dog watches the window and all hell breaks loose when she spots the truck.......

 

There is a Dodge Ram around here with so many freaking lights on it, every single part of the truck including underneath, it's like an airport landing light driving at you.

 

We had a pretty shitty day today, literally! One of the last houses we delivered to was having the septic tank pumped, the smell was overpowering, and the back of the UPS truck smelled like exactly what you think for the rest of my shift…

My mom told me not to post any of this publicly on any social media, but it has become clear that no legal issues are going to arise, and my former boss at the nursing home has taken my side after hearing the story.

A 7-foot tall mentally ill elderly man walked up on an argument between myself and another gentleman who did not like where my truck was parked and decided to confront me about it. I said something to the other guy that I should not have said (specifically, I told the man first guy “shove it up your ass” after he cut me off when I was trying to explain that my tire pressure light came on, and I wanted to make sure I didn’t have a flat), but that’s besides the point.

For reasons known only to him, something triggered the 7-foot elderly man, and he decided to grab onto the driver side door of my truck with a death grip as I was getting back into the truck to move it. That went just the way anybody who knows me would expect it. The 7-foot tall man’s son can be heard in the dashcam video saying that the guy had a stroke, and I can be heard responding with “that gives him the right to just come up to someone’s car and grab the door?”

If he did that to the wrong person’s vehicle, there’s a good chance he’d be in the morgue. A huge Hulk-like man coming up to a stranger’s vehicle at night, grabbing onto the door, and not letting go? Are you fucking kidding me?!?!

Well, somewhere along the line my left quarter panel got dented; I believe it was by accident, possibly from the elderly man making contact with my truck when I pulled away after getting the door shut. I have no desire to make contact with any of the assholes involved again, and I know they will deny it. Unfortunately, my rear dashcam had fallen off the back window, so I don’t have any footage at the back of the truck.

If they don’t cause anymore trouble, I’m going to eat the cost of fixing the dent (or possibly file a comprehensive claim depending on the estimate; I have an appointment with my trusted body shop on Monday afternoon).

Amanda suspects that I may almost hit the 7-foot tall elderly man with my door (obviously by accident), and this may be what triggered him. My dashcam footage shows me pulling into the nursing home relatively slow, and then you can hear me putting the truck in park; several seconds pass before the bald guy (I just refer to him as “Kojack”) crosses the road in front of my stopped truck, and confronted me about being in the crosswalk when I got out to check for a flat. It is after I told Kojack to shove it up his ass and got back into the truck that the elderly stroke patient grabbed onto my door. The elderly man is black, and his son (along with his girlfriend) was in the process of dropping him off. Kojack had just dropped off a family member.

The old man’s son had long hair with dreadlocks and looked like Bob Marley, so that’s what I’ve been calling him when telling the story. So, Kojack was the one who involved himself in business that was not his and set me off; I have no idea where Bob Marley’s dad (the old man) came from, but Bob Marley and his girlfriend were talking to my girlfriend under the breezeway to the right of my truck.

It is also entirely possible that when the old man heard me say “shove it up your ass”, he thought he was witnessing a fight or some other crime and thought he was doing a good deed by attempting to prevent me from leaving. Once I mentioned that my truck had a dashcam, Kojack attempted to reach into my truck and grab it.

The word “ass” seemed to trigger the old man, because after Bob Marley got his dad off my truck door the first time, I said “if he touches my truck again, I’m kicking his ass”. This set the old man off again, and he grabbed onto the door again, only to be pulled off by his son again. At this point, thinking Amanda had gotten in the truck, I pulled the door shut and floored it. I believe the dent was caused by one of the three men falling into the side of the truck as I drove off.

All three of these people are honestly really lucky that I don’t file charges. My former boss (still Amanda’s boss) knows the old man well, and says that it sounds like he (the old man who grabbed my door) was the aggressor. With regards to me telling Kojack to shove it up his ass, my former boss says that put in the same situation, he probably would have said the same thing.

If the nursing home contacts me, I’ve got dashcam footage that shows my truck rocking back and forth from the brute strength of the elderly man, and that I was clearly trying to get out of the situation.

From the moment the old man grabbed my door, it seemed like Bob Marley and Kojack wanted do was fight!

 

Sounds like Bob Marley needed to be on a leash.
