Hey all - Finally got my first Tacoma, hopefully my last. New-to-me gold 2004 V6 4x4 Taco with 246,000 miles on it. Don't know how it got out of twenty years in Ohio with only surface rust, don't care.

For now it's being babied a little since it's way overdue for a timing belt and the compressor is seized (AC is, in fact, necessary in the South and anyone who says otherwise is a masochist or liar), but as soon as I can get all the maintenance catch-up done I'm looking forward to finding some trails, figuring out what I want to change, and building it for some trips into the mountains.

Until then, it gets to putter around town where if the timing belt gives in a tow won't be too expensive...

How did you find my to-do list?

In all seriousness - engine oil is already done since it was quick & easy, most of the rest of the fluids & seals are going to get changed out anyhow when I do the timing belt and compressor (why take apart the front of the truck more times than I need to?), fuel filter and undercarriage are going to happen at the same time since I'm going to take the bed off to simplify it. (sure, I could do it from under the truck, but why work on my back under the truck when I can do it standing up in relative comfort?)

The only things on my to-do list you missed are the washer fluid reservoir (See previous "take the front apart once") and a complete new suspension. Shockingly, the 20-year-old shocks are very much due for replacement. Currently leaning towards the Old Man Emu kit with 883s up front and Dakars out back.

I bought mine from a Lt. Commander who was stationed in SC back in 2004. Adding your unique signature to it is the fun part. They're built to last - enjoy.
