Are you disappointed in me for a trading in my Tacoma to get a 4Runner?

I don't think I've ever purchased a vehicle with more than 50,000 miles on it, I'm pretty sure the highest was my first tacoma and I think that was like 42000. Unless high school vehicle purchases count, then the highest mileage would have been the 94 Mazda b4000 I bought from my grandpa for real cheap. That had like 140,000 mi or something like that. The other vehicle I bought in high school was the 97 escort and that actually was pretty low miles because it was Grandma owned. I can't remember specifically how many miles but I think it was something between 60 and 80 thousand.

    i've bought multiples over 100k

    2002 Tacoma
    2005 Tacoma
    2002 IS300
    2007 IS250

since those, the highest I've bought was my Tundra with 180 miles because they had to do a dealer trade from Illinois after my truck got stuck in port.

I bought my 1st gen taco 2 yrs old w/ 86k miles on it.
According to the dealer, the previous owner was a hunting/fishing guide in northern MN, so he put on some miles.
I ran it well into the 250k range.
My aging memory bank can't find the specifics.
I drove my H.S. Honda Prelude all over the country and cashed it in for the 1st gen at 213k miles.

My wifes 2019 jeep cherokee trailhawk had 20 miles on it when we bought it.
    That was new to me.

What do you guys in here think? The two that I am considering (but definitely not rushing into) are a 2024 SR5 premium with 31,000 miles (It doesn't say that it was a rental but I wouldn't be surprised if it was with that many miles in such a short time) and then the nightshade that I've already mentioned that has 68,000 mi. I'm leaning towards the nightshade because I like how it looks, I like the amenities, I really really like the idea of full-time four-wheel drive, plus it's cheaper. The thing that would scare me away from it is a rusty undercarriage or any odd sounds or feelings that shouldn't be there. As for the 2024, it does seem a tad bit odd someone would buy a brand new 4Runner, load it up with miles, and then trade it right away (I mean who would do such a thing, definitely not me :anonymous:) so with the 2024 I definitely would like to see the Carfax to see if it was at least maintained properly.

wouldn't surprise me if the 2024 was someone that does sales or something similar. you can rack up a ton of miles in no time. I was putting 40k+ on my vehicles every year.

As long as everything looks / feels right, I dont think you've got anything much to worry about with either of them.

fulltime 4wd would definitely be my personal preference though.

also you havent mentioned the most important thing, what color are they?

So I just got my hands on the Carfax for the 2024, definitely got a weird history. Almost seems like some information got messed up or something. The nightshade is black and looks fuckin sweet and the SR5 premium is white, which is not the greatest color, but you can do some cool accenting stuff. Black accents and red accents look good with white in my opinion

Correct but also I'm distracted. Lol

And believe it or not, no one knows everything. Is just wrong. And sometimes people have knowledge that isn't wrong. But my contradict someone else's knowledge. That's the fun part about these groups is there's always something to learn even if you're an expert.

No hard feelings. Just rattling your cage. :D

My methods are unorthodox and mostly/strictly not by the 'book'.

I do incorporate your expertise into my mods.
    :drunk:

Edit: Oh. wait. "some" of your expertise.

Can the owner of a 4runner be a moderator on a tacoma site?

    You're pushing it. Bub.

Actually I'm in violation of the rules, usually moderators on Tacomaworld and tundras.com don't have the vehicle of the forum that they are moderating so actually I'm getting back in regulation
