Aside from the ultimate headlight upgrade which I am currently running, is there an LED headlight on the market now that is worth the switch? The light output that I have now is great, however the choppy halogen style cutoff and scattered hotspots are less than desirable. Maybe my wife's Explorer ST headlights are giving me an unrealistic expectation. I know I don't want Alpharex but is there a Morimoto version or other brand that is good?

Crash did a comparison of the morimoto assembly. It didn’t score quite as good as the ultimate but was close if I remember correctly.
Problem was they cost like 1200$. The ultimate had more output for less than half the cost.

Haven’t looked at the thread in forever but here you go.

Morimoto makes one but not the best performance for what you pay. Better to do an LED or D2S retrofit.

I've got a stupid question. Is it safe to run Morimoto's with the heavy-duty harness and will that amplify the light output even more? @crashnburn80

Don’t think it would amplify the output but I could be wrong.

Yea I'm not sure if LEDs work in the same manner as halogens in that regard. It would be nice though considering I have the harness installed already plus the voltage boosting diode for my AGM battery. In theory it should max out the Morimoto capability.

It seems to have been established alpharex is not good.

However I don’t know about better priced TEQ customs which has many options.
