Transmission on 2021 Tacoma

2021 Tacoma, stopped right in the middle of a hill. Gave a transmission warning and had to call a tow truck. Left it at the dealership. Great, Thanksgiving...

 

any history of issues leading up to this trans problem ?

 

No prior problems. Just passed 60,000 miles.

 

None at all.

What is a transmission warning?

Has the transmission been slipping any or doing anything out of the ordinaary?

Dealership stated, "Couldn't find anything wrong with the truck." Said there were a couple historic alerts but nothing else. They thought it could be that going up a hill might have prevented the carburetor from getting gas. I told them I had over a quarter of a tank but, that was all they could come up with. Been driving OK since.

 

Did you attempt to accelerate before the trans warning came on? How was the trans warning display?

My truck just started jerking and acted like it wasn't getting any gas or the transmission was slipping. It died and would not run. Could start it but when you put it in gear it choked and lurched a bit before dying. There were multiple light coming on the dash but didn't see them due to traffic and being in the middle of the street. Turned on flashers and waited.

 

Well that's an interesting suggestion.....

 

fuel pump issue ?

 

Crown Toyota gave me papers saying there was nothing wrong with my truck when checked out. I wonder.
