Skid plates thoughts

Trying to take advantage of black Friday sales. Any thoughts on which skid plates to get?

Any thoughts on these? They seem reasonable in price.

I am not familiar with that brand, but they look great. I like the fact that they are stainless steel and USA made! I put RCI plates on my TRD Off Road and few month ago and they are nice as well. I opted for 1/4" aluminum plate for weight reduction. My son and I installed the engine and tranny plates in 20 minutes. The stainless plates may be a better option for toughness if you are a serious rock crawler. Good luck on your new install!

 

Does rci have an opening for oil and oil filter change?

 

Hard to beat the price on the Trailhunter plates direct from Toyota.

 

Do you have a link or a part numbers and do they have a cat plate also?

 

This is just the skid plate. You can add the transfer case skid plate if you want more coverage, but not sure how well it covers the cat.

Just ordered a full set of steel skids from Talons Garage. Good coverage and the bolt heads are recessed. $100 Black Friday savings.

 

Do they fit hybrids?

 

Nope

 

I have not seen any aftermarket skid plates that fit hybrid yet. It seems the only available choice is the trailhunter pt228-35240 for front and pt228-35244 for transfer case although the sites state that the later may not fit.

 

If the trailhunter models are hybrids, and they come with a steel skid plate from the factory, there is at least one skid plate that will fit on the hybrids. I suspect the OEM steel fits on the hybrids just fine considering it's embossed with "TRAILHUNTER"

But that's easy for me to say because I'm not the one spending the money to test this.
