I tried my hand at shaping my Ascent body. The sides of the bottom of the cab were sticking out 3/4 of on inch and catching on every rock. Fortunately I don't do this for a living! :anonymous:

i haven’t tried them yet but like that they’re not so tight fitting in the tires so there’s some realistic tire sag compared to the foams I had.

They may not be the best but for $16 for 4 you can’t go wrong imo

I gotta get these. I got brass links for the Honcho for down low weight but I think weight in the tires will be better.

if you don’t already have a set of lexan body scissors buy a set of the straight and curved.

They really help keep the cuts clean. Another option I use on larger scale stuff to help shape the genders is a protoform sanding drum. I used it to clean up one of our small crawler bodies but don’t have any good pics of it at the moment.

This thing has been taking some abuse and absolutely tearing it up in the rock garden. Have a bunch of goodies showing up next week sometime. Also plan on practicing making an exo cage with this body before putting on an IR60 body and putting an exo on that. Happy turkey day everyone

Man... I just wish I was 100000% convinced on the FCX18 in general. I love how it looks, the 2-speed gearbox, and that the size is perfect for a trail rig / crawler that isn't as large and cumbersome as the 1/10 trucks. That said, my FCX24 has been a PITA to work on and I feel like the brushless Hobbyplus/Furitek stuff is appealing as well. Tell me I'm wrong and I'll inevitably pull the trigger...

The FCX18 is tough to work on due to the body being bolted on, but Injora makes a magnet mount set that makes it so much easier to remove the body and work on the chassis.

    Speaking from experience?

It isn't the body mounting that worries me. The 2-speed in my FCX24 has been a lot of headaches.

I upgraded the gears in the two speed to metal ones and lost 1st gear. I threw a shim in it and it’s been fine ever since. It does take some tinkering.

I’ve gone through at least 3 iterations of the metal and plastic gears and finally just bought a new all-metal Injora gearbox which thankfully solved it.

Now to debate that $99 purchase or not…..
