I got one the other day from USPS regarding an incorrect zip code on an item going through Customs. I actually did a double take as I had an item going through Customs that day. It turns out they eventually drill down to asking you to pay to change the zip code on the package.

The text used a shortened USPS looking URL. I obviously didn't click on it but did some reading about it and it was one of the better scams I've seen. Usually I can spot them a mile away but this was just close enough to reality I had to think.

 

This one, I get frequently on both phones....

 

Mine is NH. Might switch to Maine though.

I also got this one the other day, I was like I didn’t order anything and if the wife did she is shit out of luck, cause I’m not taking the time to sort it out.
As I thought about it, figured the postal service will put something in my mailbox if it’s a real issue.

 

Hey so speaking of scams, here's one to BOLO for. You order something, it gets marked as delivered, you never got it, seller tells you to eat shit. This happens mostly with USPS shipping.

Turns out they send you a working, valid USPS tracker that goes to your ZIP, cause without going to the post office and having the clerk verify the whole address, you have no way to see it, and a CC chargeback/eBay appeal/etc usually sees "delivered" and doesn't sleuth any farther.

The way they prep this is that a supplier brute forces a ton of tracking numbers daily, and sorts by ZIP, then a scam operation buys access, usually by the day.

 

All this is exactly why I only deal with known vendors, and PayPal( no direct card card access).

Happy Thanksgiving all! I have been thankful for meeting many of you from here and lucky enough to have sprayed many of your trucks. Today however marks the end of an era. I will no longer be offering my services for undercoating. This may come as a shock to many of you but life just seems to get busier and busier. I highly recommend @tacobell007 and if you want someone closer to my end there's two shops I can recommend nearby as well.

Everything is good. Just an executive decision to free up some time and be able to work on projects and not skip family outings. Not to mention never making it out to any of the tw meetups

Driving around in the rain yesterday I can say that the Toyo Open Country's that @crashngiggles recommended have good wet road traction.

I was almost ran into twice and was able to avoid a collision.

 

Glad you are ok Harry. Moving from the BFG to Toyo was one of the best moves on my truck I ever have done. My wife has the Falken Wildpeaks on her highlander (which are awesome as well) but they are way too heavy in the size I needed them.

 

Just did a quick comparison. The Toyo's are $7 cheaper a tire and 4 pounds lighter (in my size and load rating).
