@soetaco how is the ‘feel’ of those lasfit mats? Do they feel more like a hard plastic or more ‘rubbery’? I find that some brands of mats are a harder, more inflexible plastic and have a tendency to scratch/drag against plastics on the way out (if there is any dirt on the edges) and I dont like that; prefer something softer and more malleable that can be more easily folded. Any comments in that regard? Thanks for sharing

Would say it’s a mix of the rubbery type material and the harder plastic type, but not nearly as hard and inflexible as say Weathertech mats. If you’re looking for something more rubbery, then OEM is the way to go.
Personally I was looking for better coverage getting in and out with snowy shoes and boots.

Waiting to hear how these trucks start at 40 below zero ?
Do they all come with a command start feature ? Ive been told you have to pay and subscribe to start the truck with your phone
Do the heated seats function with command start ?
I am 10 hours driving time away from a Toyota dealership .
No such thing as a test drive up where I live

    1. Dont have an answer for that.
    2. I got TH and disabled Toyota Services and opted out from all the BS they have so now i cannot control my truck from phone, but i still can start car from remote. its press lock button twice and on a 3 time hold it.
    3. Yes, but you have to have it enabled before you turn the truck off. Next time you start it it remembered it. I just tested that too
    4. I didnt test drive any of the trims and went straight to TH. If i would get new one i would go for hybrid for extra power and that 2400W inverter. I hope this helps

just finished getting everything setup on my trd pro i got last tuesday. i was REALLY hoping on some kind of seat memory function but i haven't found it and the internet is also saying no dice.

she is 5ft and i am 6ft... i get that it has the dumb shock absorber seats with manual seatbacks but it would be SUPER nice if me unlocking the dang truck with my key fob would start to at least move the seat all the way back when i use my fob and move the seat up when she uses hers.

i was able to figure out how to sync the keys to our profiles and was hoping it would somehow maybe lock in the seat settings to match each profile but no dice.

this was literally a thing in my 1992 LS400. am i missing something or is this just what it is? i did search btw and most of the threads are old. figured i would give it one last shot.

-You can triple lock the truck to remote start it without the subscription, but its super short range.
-You have to have set the seats on first
-We've been -20 and it hasnt been an issue yet, -40 is later. The tundra HV uses the HV motor to start the engine and has a standard starter as reserve, I've never seen the tundra HV use the starter even in the dead of winter yet. The tacoma is the same, it has a back up starter but it never uses it. (I can see it in the service manual, I havent physically checked for a starter on an HV taco yet) They do sell a block heater all the same.

Side note: The limited hybrid has full time 4x4 incase thats a thing you'd like, they are very tough to find but they are out there, and in cold weather I always like to have full time engaged.

The big thing with the hybrid to me is value, I'd wait for prices to settle, it doesnt provide enough kick or fuel economy to warrant the price. But they are nice to drive, especially compared to the 3rd gen.

I’ve already seen a few stripped-out OR’s with hybrid showing up on lots, discounted to just under $50k. For many, deleting features but getting the same powertrain as a $67k Pro might seem like a tempting play. I personally remain skeptical.

Since there’s some obvious weight and space penalties to lug around those nickel batteries under your rear bench, I’m curious if those who’ve actually test-driven both the hybrid and non-hybrid back to back believe the max version is worth the extra dough, which would otherwise buy you some extra features on top of a basic 2.4T.

I purchased one of those stripped down OR's iForce Maxs. The local dealer had a couple of premium examples fully optioned out with moon roof, AC seats, etc. I sat in the premium version and thought "do I really need all of this stuff?" I definitely did not need or want the moon roof or the AC seats (which I would cover anyway) or the electronic tailgate. I guess I miss the electronic drivers seat controls, but being a single driver, I do not make a lot of changes to seating position, so manual is fine. I did want heated seats (non-negotiable!) --present on the stripped down version. Along with the lighted front emblem (! who cares?) and the larger screen. The only thing I wanted that was not present was a Homelink mirror (do not care about the digital 360 mirror). I replaced the OEM autodim mirror for $258 in a simple install (@RJP869 Bob's Mirrors). I do miss rear seats that fold up for extra storage under those seats, but after driving both versions, I liked the hybrid 0-30 MPH kick better.

The difference is, rounding up, $50K vs 55K (the Off Road option pack $4400) and $59K (Premium option pack $8800). It was not really about the money, but rather the options I just did not care about.

    I feel your challenge :)

I'm 5'11" and wife is 4'11". It was mandatory for the auto seat adjustment for her car.

I really like my Hybrid Limited. Color is Bronze Oxide and love the look!
Just over 1500 miles on it but I barely notice the on/off of the ICE.
I live in the mountains and am averaging 22 mpg with only somewhat aggressive driving.
I put it in Sports+ yesterday on way home for first time and drove aggressively on the back roads... It handled closer to a sports car than a body-on-frame truck. Lots of fun!
I find all the cameras very useful. A nice feature is the video button on center console. Using that when on the highway with a bed full of furniture, you can see the bed or at least the top of your load (depending how high you went) and see if anything shifted or tarp flapping without having to pull over. Very useful on long highway runs.
The AVS is one reason I paid the extra for the Hybrid Limited. I drive the range from bumpy dirt, gravel roads to smooth highway in most outings and handles it all way better than my old F-150 or my wife's Highlander.
While there are minor annoyances like shortage of interior storage, I would buy it again (just from a different dealer) ;)

Anyone getting a bit of feedback, or small jolt/bump, like you went over a rumble strip or something if you sloowly ease into a stop at a light or sign?

Sometimes I'll get a bit of feedback or something right as I ease in to the stop. Doesn't really seem to happen if I brake hard. I'm not in the TSB range, but trying to find out if this is how the hybrid normally feels.

when the engine is already off? like when coasting to stop the engine stops before you get to stop and then as you stop it happens? if so that could be electric motor turning on/ off

No its not that, doesn't seem to correlate with the engine turning off. I can watch the tac go to zero as I coast or slow down and i never feel anything.

was wondering maybe a downshift or the regen/hydraulic brakes handing off?

Someone asked this towards the beginning of this thread. I’m still trying to figure it out too. My wife’s 2024 Rav4 Prime does the same thing. And recently, when I rode in my friend’s Prius, it was doing the same. He said it’s always been like that. His Prius has over 250k miles on it. Not a single problem with it. I haven’t experience it in the Tacoma though.

There is a transfer from regenerative braking to conventional braking when coming to a slow easy stop. Once you are almost stopped (about 5 - 10 MPH) the conventional braking takes over. Hard braking requires conventional braking. This was typical for my Prius Prime and my Rav4 Prime. I have had the Tacoma hybrid only for a few days and have really paid much attention to that.

I think that's what it must be, but its really only felt in the last half a second before I come to a halt and im easing gently into the stop.

I have not sensed or noticed any difference in behavior compared to any other vehicle I've owned or driven. Suspect you are easing off the brake without realizing it as you relax and so it can begin to creep as any idle would, then you have to reapply force. But I've not ever caught myself feeling the vehicle was creeping forward unexpectedly... if anything it's that last bit of braking before a traffic circle or roundabout that get me the most.
