Thanks for the well wishes. I've owned so many Toyota vehicles and this was definitely something I did not expect. Seems other manufacturers are also screwing the pooch just as much. For me to use the same dealership they'd have to give me the truck for practically nothing, which they wont do. I've already contacted the Vegas Toyota dealership that I bought 7 trucks from when I lived there and they are working on finding me a 2025 Xtracab. I'm going to reach out to a broker also. Hoping to settle this BS soon and putting it behind me.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Update: I am about a week out of settling with Toyota and I got a call today saying my truck is fixed and can be picked up. Went and scooped it up and while I was waiting I was looking at what trucks were on the lot. A salesman came out and asked if I needed help. Told him my deal and he asked about my next purchase. I said I would never buy a truck from this dealership again. Of course he asked what it would take to win my business back. I told him if he can get me what I want at invoice, no aftermarket ($699) tracking device, I get my own financing, no dealership add-ons and wholesale price on a Toyota Platinum Warranty for 10 years. Doesn't hurt to try but I seriously doubt they will do it.

So you're stuck with the truck instead of getting the buy back because the truck was "fixed" before the check got to you? Just leave that truck at the stealership and walk away from that mess.

No... while waiting for the 3rd party company, Zedgwick, to set up a date to meet me at the dealership to get a check and sign shit I own this truck. Been paying loan payments and everything else. Until they hand me the check and satisfy my loan its mine. The service dept did their part and does not want to store it until the next step of the process takes place and since I paid the loan I drive it up until the day. Then it's theirs and I start all over again.

I've read this thread from top to bottom, and to me anyway, the moral of the story is to "Lawyer Up" on day 1.

    This....
End of the day, its a done deal...
Pickup the truck, drive the shit out of it, go on a road trip....
At this point thyere not nickle & diming you on mileage usage, its over...
Go enjoy it, make sure you still love what you purchased.....
Maybe you will change your mind again & get another 4 door...

when I started my buyback, I had about 500 or 600 miles on the truck, when it was all said and done and I turned it in there was almost 4000 miles on it. My chick shows English Staffordshire terriers in confirmation and we had 2 back to back recent shows up in northern California. I said what the hell let’s take the truck…
    Ggggooooooooo!!!! :burnrubber::curls::mudding:

The minute you lawyer up all parties will refuse to communicate with you and will communicate through your lawyer instead, which will mean your lawyer will incur $$$—they love those. Every email. Every phone call. Every text. Every dick pic will just go straight in their pockets.

99% of the time your resolution will be exactly the same except with the lawyer they will have a lot of your money.

However, I believe this would have been resolved more quickly and it would include legal fees, rental fees, etc. You can bet if my engine cratered after a few days, I would have hired legal representation right away and sick that bulldog on their ass.

Now we get to see the next chapter in this shit show. ..

Pretty good request other than limiting yourself to invoice. They might actually do it, because invoice isn't necessarily what it sounds like it should be.

    https://www.kbb.com/what-is/dealer-cost/

Best of luck in your final resolution.

Thanks for the explanation, and all of your efforts to keep the thread up to date. I'm just following along, I looked at a 4th gen and had zero interest after sitting in one. I'm not bashing, it just wasn't for me. I sincerely hope that they keep their word and take the truck off of your hands and don't back pedal after the stealership got the truck "fixed". Funny how those 'unobtainium' parts magically appeared.

Break out the popcorn and move over Yellowstone.... there's a new mini-series coming.... "Dude .. Where's My Truck?"

Picked it up last night. They put 100 miles on it for testing purposes. I drove it 11 miles home. Felt a weird quick "shutter" somewhere under me. Chalked it up to paranoia or shitty road surface. 11 hours later at 2:00AM I drive 7 miles to pick up my son at the bus stop. Haven't seen him since he left for Navy boot camp in June. Thought I felt the same "shutter" driving up my street. Drive 7 miles back. Left this morning with him to get errands done and about 4 miles from home, on a local highway, felt the "shutter" again and then non stop and then the light show began. Every mother fucking warning light, message, oil light start flashing and truck loses power and now I have to limp off the highway to safety. Shut her down and restart and no warnings. I called service and had to have a flat bed come for it. I asked for a loaner and again... no loaner and the loaner person is off. So as I write this service called and said there are no warning lights flashing but we will look at it Monday. How's that for an advertisement for MY 2024 Tacoma and STEPHEN WADE TOYOTA of SAINT GEORGE, UTAH. Instead of towing it I should have driven it till that piece of shit went up in flames on the side of the road.. but I'm too old to walk home that far!

Can't wait for the responses ... lol. "fuuuuck.. glad I'm not him"
