Must be to cold for the Deer to graze in the field behind my house . Only seen this Doe in the last hour

29° upstate here and the hunters are out in the woods. Heard 2 shots thos AM but haven't seen any deer coming out of the woods (carried or drug) yet
But on the meantime, here are a few pictures for Susan from our doggie daycare care up here this weekend.

Afternoon all:

NO DEER, but almost, the jr. hunter was the only one who had a chance at one, missed the first shot and both Lynn and him THINK he hit it on a second shot, no blood and they looked around for it for over an hour with no luck, super hard to track without any snow or blood.

 

My sons friends are up and one got a deer first thing this morning. They will be back this afternoon to try again. Only heard 3 shots so far and one was the deer. Are you going to try again tomorrow?

 

Helped a buddy load up some leftover Trex I had from replacing a 2nd story deck and stairs. One less thing for my wife to be "reminding" me about.
Moved a plant shelf made with concrete blocks and 2x12 pressure treated wood from the back patio to the front patio.
Straightened up the back patio. (Really just jobs to stay out of my wife's way-must be a full moon!)
Heading out to gas up and then plan my afternoon nap.
Afterwards I'll take a look at the set-up instructions for the new Blink outdoor cameras I got on Amazon Black Friday sale.

And as a bonus my son, whom I don't get to see very often, called me to
see if I wanted to have a beer at the local Brewery! That makes the day perfect!

Congrats to your son's friend on getting a deer Ken ! Yea, we will be out tomorrow with Lynns 2 grandkids, wish that the jr. hunter could get one. I heard about 20 shots, 16 in the far distance with some being multiple which usually means a miss, the 2 that Lynns grandson fired, and only 2 others in somewhat close proximity, not good!

Wow! Big brawl at the OSU/Michigan game yesterday. Heads will roll over this one.
Off to pick up a grocery order this morning, then nothing on tap for the rest of the day. Just veg out. Hmm... nothing in my racoon trap yesterday, but the bait was gone. Rebait, reset. They are born greedy. Maybe they're holed-up because of the cold weather. They be back. Trap be waiting. Meanwhile, maybe a fireplace nap.

 

Good morning all. We have her family Christmas party this afternoon. Thankfully we only really deal with most of them once a year.

Going down to get my,morning coffee at the local "have - all" store and herd of deer at least a dozen crossed the road in front of me. They are plentiful up here and so far only 3 were harvested .
