Yea I've been unhappy with the thing since I bought it. About time to go to the scrapyard if it does that crap again. The electronics get stuck on stupid mode occasionally even when it was new.

 

Make? I hate our GE washer.

 

What was wrong with mechanical timers? Just changed the one on the Maytag & it was $6. Must have taken years of study to convince manufacturers that electronics work well in harsh environments. Seems like every appliance has to have NASA capability these days

 

Went to the shop yesterday and got the Christmas decorations over here to the house.

We can't use high speed spin on ours because it shakes too violently.
And yes it's level. I had it on a concrete floor and had to put a rug under it because it will walk all over.

 

Mine hasn't done the dance across the basement floor in a while, but I don't overload it like the other people in the house

Even Speed Queens don't have mechanical timers anymore, but it does look more simple than the one I got.

 

I was in this one couple weeks back. GE too. Had a hell if a Spin cycle but didn’t notice being any cleaner.

Good morning shop crew, have a great and blessed Sunday. I need to buy a washer and dryer for our new house, any suggestions on what brand to get?

 

I know what you mean, I remember when we could jam pack a water and it would clean great.
Now they say only put 1/2 full and it will struggle.
Had a guy come out and he said be careful how much detergent you use, if you followed the directions on the bottle then your using too much.

 

I do like them using less water with me having a poorly aging septic system, but the detergent thing is definitely real. I finally got the other two here to stop using a cap full (like literally to the top) of detergent when you only need a little over an ounce. Was buying them a bottle of detergent every other week On the fence about fabric softener. I usually don't use it, but do use a little bit in the winter to prevent static.

 

Get the least expensive ones you can find because, unfortunately...they're not going to last.

That’s basically what the appliance repair parts guy said. The new machines don’t last.
