Deer hunting BS thread

I have permission on 130 acres behind my house . The negative factors out weigh the positive here .
Poor soil
Too many doe tags given
No antler restrictions
2 hours from New York City means land is worth more for housing . City people buying up land and do not want people hunting or turning the land into multi million dollar subdivisions . Let’s not forget the idiots around here that drive all over the mountain with side by sides and quads . This is why I spend 4-5 days in Pennsylvania at my friends house . His neighbor has a 29 acre farm we hunt .

 

That drives me nuts...

This 130 acres has a section that is about 5 acres of thick nasty sanctuary/ bedding for deer . There is only one way to get near it playing the wind and that’s where I hunt with the rifle . I stay out during bow season . But the other 2 guys that have permission on the property are not what I call real hunters and walk in with the wind at their back from the other side of the property. My spot is really the only spot you can hunt near it . I hate to think of the deer these guys pushed out just trying to get to their stands . It affects my deer sightings also I hate people especially ass holes

Yer hunting at the wrong time of day.

 

So we shot 3 deer earlier this week and hung them in the pole shed. My buddy's kid was supposed to dispose of the entrails so the dogs wouldn't get into 'em. We were watching the Ohio v Michigan game yesterday and I went outside and was greeted with this:

 

Texas rifle season is just over 2 months. I lost my lease because they sold the property but luckily a friend allowed me to hunt does on his. I’d rather have a big buck but hey, 2 does filled the freezer.

 

Yep I’m still trying with the bow. I tend to aim high with a bow for some reason. I did wound an 8 point 4 years ago but didn’t bring it down. There wasn’t much blood and I watched it run off so I think it healed fine. I’ll be stoked when I finally get one with a bow. I was supposed to go yesterday but my back has been strained and i needed to rest it.

 

Actually going to buy another deer rifle tomorrow just because of the sale at cabelas. I don’t really need it, but hey, rifles increase in value and I can always leave them to my kids.
