I was so looking forward to purchasing a new tocoma access cab, so glad I found this thread as I was not aware of the changes. Look like I’ll keep mine for a for years more. Wondering if mine would be worth gold now! I have a 2020 Tacoma access cab with 8k miles on it. Was wondering if it’s worth trading in for a 4 door one if they would give me a good trade in or should I sell it privately.

Similar here. 2018 AC about to cross 10K mi. It's a garage queen. It took me years to get dealership to fix the driveline vibration with OR springs TSB - that solved it, and other stuff and I am very happy with this mall crawler. I like the AC and long bed and don't want DC with a short bed. If you really do want DC then I doubt you will get a tradein bump from the dealer. Wait til classic AC's become a thing and sell privately. It might never be a thing though. Manual classic AC would be a find.
I owned a Nissan AC that did not have doors back in 80's. I threw my back out when twisting reaching into it. I was happy when I could get doors on toyota AC. No plans to give it up now.

My 2022 just turned 2 years old in September and just hit 5K. I had my last truck 24 years and hope to break that record.

That is disappointing. Personally I don’t like the aesthetics of the DCSB trucks. The trucks are more cab than bed.

I don’t like how everything is going smaller and turbocharged. I want cubic inches without all the added parts these smaller engines use to compensate as a replacement for displacement.

When I saw they axed 6 cylinders, and rear doors and seats for the (not so) access cab I knew I was my 2015’s last owner lol.

But hey, to each their own I guess.

I had a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT with their Extra Cab or whatever they called it and the front passenger seat had a feature I've never seen in another brand. Though it did not have read doors, you stepped on a lever/pedal at the bottom of the seat back and the front seat tilted forward and the whole seat slid forward in one step and even remembered the positions when you pushed it back into place after loading payload or rear passengers. The rear jump seats folded into the body and there was no cupholders on the extended console like on my first Tacoma, a 2009. There were no storage compartments and center console in the rear and the hump was a little less prominent so even though the Ranger was smaller and access to the rear area was not as easy we could fit more camping equipment, etc than my Tacomas.

    You couldn't give me a 2024 A/C model.
Heck you couldn't give me a DC model either.

This thing looks like a .... truck.

2021 with 22,000 glorious miles on it.
Will be paid for in 3 months.

I test drove the 2023 Frontier King Cab (with clam shell doors) and a V6 4wd and while the seating position and view over the hood was much better than the 2023 Tacoma, the steering had a very heavy feeling, not sure how much the 265 width tires contributed to that being as the Tacoma had 245 width tires. The transmission was always shifting with if I remember a 10 speed auto trans. Taking a left turn from a stop it seemed to sit there instead of accelerating as the oncoming cars were approaching. The passenger jump seat in the back also had a plastic housing hanging down from it reducing the space under that seat. With the seat folded up it would get in the way of having our 6in telescope sitting on the rear floor during transport. We decided on the Tacoma based on those problems but the seating position and controls were better than the Tacoma.

Interesting my stock truck still, has the vibration since new, it now has 26k miles and under Toyota warranty till 2029. Any information on how you got them to do the springs would be greatly appreciated.

I was told by the area rep. that the vibrations are a Normal Characteristic of the Tacoma...

Yesterday I saw something about the regular cab being discontinued in 2014 and the decline of small truck sales overall. Ford cut the 2.7 on the 2dr Bronco and the 2dr itself will probably be next I can't the vehicle market taking a turn where manufacturers are going to stop cutting costs everywhere possible, small trucks are usually at the top of the list. I'm just wondering what manufacturers are still going to be around 5 years from now.

    OP,
I also own a 2023 Access Cab along with a 1991 Extended Cab.
I find the pony doors of the A/C to be far more useful.

With all the other baloney done to the 2024 Gen 4 line, I am very happy to have my 2023 A/C model.

My 2023 will outlive me, unless something unforeseen occurs.
In that case, I will look for a used model instead of a replacement from the 2024 or newer line.

The 4th gen Xtra cab without doors would be a little more practical if they could make the windows roll down.

My 1991 Extended Cab is a PITA when I want to load my rifles in the back.
I have to move the seat position, then fold down the back rest.
Then I have to reposition the seat and adjust the back rest to my preferred position.

    PITA.

I had a deceleration vibration between 30 and 10mph. There is a TSB to address it but to get the dealership to pay attention, I had to escalate. I did not have vibration at highway speeds. We have different situations but here is what happened.
Cust Svc guys told me it was normal. I told them might be normal (it really was not - it was pretty bad) but is unacceptable. I wound up talking to shop/operations manager and he had a shop tech (not a cust svc tech) ride with me and he immediately said it was a problem and we applied the TSB and it is fixed.
    https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10227899-9999.pdf
Operations/shop manager was reasonable and shop tech was fantastic. Cust svc is there to keep you away from shop if they can.
on the other hand, you can see how they would need to do some of that to weed out crank (not you) customers. I think we have different situations...not sure what to tell you if you have already talked to shop and toyota area rep, especially since they wrote you experienced it on another truck.
