Thank you for the add to this group. I’ve used it many times over the years. I have a 2006 Tacoma TRD with 307,000 miles. My blower problem started when it would only blow on high. Then it completely stopped working. I changed out the resistor and replaced the blower motor. Any ideas? I’m lucky we have mild winters but I need to get this fixed before it heats up. Thanks for any ideas.

You might have to change the actual plug that connects the resistor. Did you happen to look at it? The pins might be melted and causing it not to work.

The new resistor (ceramic covered as the original) came with a new plug that had to be butt connected to the wiring harness. All the wires were connected in their respective positions, I even confirmed with the Toyota TSB to make sure I did it right. Is there a relay or fuse that might be blown?

I had blower issues myself but replacing the resistor (and sometimes tapping the sticky blower motor until I finally replaced the blower motor itself) solved the issue for me.

Did you ever find the root cause and get your blower working again?

Thanks for your help. I did change out both the resistor and the motor but it’s still not working at all. With a multimeter I checked the connector that connects to the motor, I’m only getting 8 volts there. At the connector that plugs into the fan speed knob I’m getting 12 volts. I’m not an expert but something is wrong between the fan knob and the connector to the motor.
