I bought direct - I do not know how CSF does their warranty but buying direct, generally speaking, can get you faster warranty turnaround because they don't have to verify the retailer order or confirm shipping/refund info - it's already in the warrantor's system.

It looks like they don’t sell it directly…

I must be mistaken. I double checked and found that I had had some email traffic with them before purchase (they had just released the V6 Taco specific all aluminum and I was double checking part numbers, as it was not yet in the official catalog). My bad.

Order wherever has the best deal, in that case.

Ive had a couple plastic radiators fail on me so I generally don’t trust them.

Dont buy a Champion radiator. Sure they have a lifetime warranty but I had 4 crack in 3 years. That is unless you think changing radiators is fun.

    want to know the same.

maybe shoulda got it at a previous work $350.

but I’m guessing if it’s not MSRP/MAP $500+ then such a deal would void any long term support warranty type stuff that may be valuable.

    was just looking at that
    1. idk if it's from the same factory. Hopefully. Maybe. Maybe not.
    2. I do know people who have tried such things on other brand vehicles with success
    3. they advertise different row, 2 or 3. Maybe it doesn't matter
    4. to see if it's the same exact part like #1, I do notice the bottom drain does not look the same in pics, ie some weird plastic cap instead of the hex bolt I think CSF has...

I’m in a 3rd Gen but I’ll put on my 2 cents. My OEM popped a leak right at the seam where the plastic tank mounts to the metal fins. I have a 2017 and under 50k miles. OEM failed. Noted to go with an all-aluminum. I debated between CSF and Mishimoto. Mishimoto had some poor customer service reviews and some recent poor quality reviews from the Tacoma crowd. I gave up the lifetime warranty with Mishimoto and went with CSF which seems to be more popular in the Tacoma crowd. Install went fine and even though it’s quite a bit thicker than stock, no modifications needed and it fit right on. I upgraded to red Mishimoto silicone tubes for the bling factor. My main reason going to CSF was for longevity. Not at all concerned about cooling as this radiator is thicker and holds more coolant than OEM. IMG_9659.jpg

    where’d you order it from?
I wa surprised to see CSF site says they’re only sold through two places URD being one. I forget the other.

I tried a knock off one a few years back on another vehicle and it leaked within a month of installing it. Promptly threw it in the trash and put a Mishimoto one in and never looked back.

I installed a Champion radiator, Chinese, lifetime warranty.

Lifetime warranty doesn’t mean it’s going to last until you die. What it means is you’ll spend the rest of your life replacing your radiator. First one lasted 18 months. Then 6, 9, 3 months.

They're sold at a few places. Just go with a reputable online company. They are all on sale for $450 right now. I like buying from Summit racing but their sale isn't quite as good as other places right now.

We used aluminum radiators on racing vehicles, pretty standard procedure. I tried a Champion aluminum radiator on my previous Toyota and it leaked out of the box with obvious sealant use. Also poor fitment. Would love for the old 2005 to run cooler, maybe if the stock radiator blows, I will try again.

I opened the package and the CSF radiator looks good, even though CSF no longer polishes them to a mirror finish.

The box was WELL protected with 2 rows of cardboard and lots of closed cell foam protecting the radiator. In addition, the whole thing was placed inside a plastic bag.

I had initially ordered a Denso, figuring that it lasted 15 years and was still ok. The Denso was damaged when it arrived, so I bit the bullet and bought a CSF.

Brushed finish is fine by me. I think a mirror polish on engine parts is only appropriate for period vehicles, i.e. 1950/1960s big-block American carbureted engines etc. Large areas of mirror polish would look more than a little out-of-place in a V6 taco engine bay.

Good to hear CSF is taking their shipping packaging seriously. Not in the market at the moment but if I had to pick I'd probably go CSF over Mishi due reported QC & fitment issues w/ Mishis.
