I saw the saddest of sads today at the junkyard: A 3RZ, auto, RWD 4Runner. Somehow it still managed to find enough speed to make some very interesting damage.

The engine didn't turn anymore but its MAF and injectors will live on in my parts stash.

 

Yeah, putting out nearly 500ft lbs at the crank tho

It was an auto 2WD, this was truly it's kindest ending.

 

Oddly, it had cruise control. I can only imagine it slowly bogging then violently downshifting as it tried to hold 55mph up a gentle grade.

Ok this is some bullshit.

GX won't crank, just a single click.

Pull codes again and after replacing the camshaft sensor, I now pull both a camshaft position sensor (bank 1) code P0340 and crankshaft position sensor code P0335.

Going to go and inspect all wiring but I made sure everything was away from the belts by using the factory loops and clips as well as ensuring the new sensor is fully plugged in.

 

Single click is usually bad battery connetion

 

I pushed in every plug with all my weight behind it in case something was loose

Fired up finally

I wonder if I hit the crankshaft sensor wire when I was pulling the accessory belt over the AC compressor

 

Air compressor just about to a month with no issues, changed the dryer beads once

Sad to see the lives lost in that Cybertruck crash. FD's normal extinguishers would not put the fire out.

 

That video's so delightfully old It's actually more fun to watch now. Helps when you can have somebody that reaches the pedals behind the wheel too

 

Hey now, did not give me an incomplete build to thrash.

 

Well good news is I have adjusted the seat so it moves much easier now. You can try it again with 100% of the pedal. Oh and it has way more boost control tuning and another 6psi... I think that video was from Monte's wedding but truthfully I actually don't remember, but at least during that trip I was having boost control issues due to the altitude because I had never been up there and gotten a chance to set a base for it. Now I've got a base that works for all conditions. But at least since you last felt it in Boise it has another 6 lb on top
