No way does a flip flop protect shit so that crush thing is not real - it's a stupid law..

But driving in flip.flops is dangerous - the heel can catch the floor mat, making it hard to let off a pedal, ask me how I know..

And since I mostly wear sandals of the flippy floppy variety - shoes off while driving, so much so that it is kinda weird driving with shoes on

Used to? But no ya. Dnd is fun with friends once they convinced me to play. Not super in to the roleplaying part but love being a 3ft tall robot who just shoots mfers with a pistol

 

More of an urban legend in my state. Many people think it's illegal here, but it never was. I can see the argument, where loose shoes can get stuck under the pedal. But I reality, bare feet was never dangerous nor illegal here, despite people professing otherwise.

However. I've driven my go-cart to lunch in my work boots, and I can say that it royally sucks. I truly can't feather the clutch because, by nature, work boots restrict ankle flexibility, and also the farmer-fred soles often get hung up on the underside of the brake pedal. I hates them. I'd rather drive naked than wear those clodhoppers.

 

Flip flops are a no-go here too. I seem to recall closed toe, but that is probably wrong…

 

DND is very dependent on the group. I wish I could find the right group. I'd take them into some weird places. And not the stereotypical/lame "I'm a bard and will try to fuck everything" places. No. Truly weird places. Gary-the-insurance-adjuster just met the lich king kind of places.

BTW, the fix for that is toothpicks, matchsticks, or skewers. (Bamboo is way more durable and works better in soft woods. You can use wood glue, but typically just using up the extra room is enough. Some folks do steel wool, or the like… but I dislike that due to rust or degradation.
You could also do a RedGreen and use a half roll of duct tape.
