yesterday was just weird, tree rats came in at legal hunting time, to be expected....they lasted about 45 minutes and were gone, I sat until 1 pm, and didnt see any rats, deer, did see the occasional bird or 12,winds were, believe it or not, from the SW at around 3-7 mph. Went back up at 2 pm and rite around sunset, had another, yet different button come in, eat out of the tube (finally) and rolled on out. Just the lack of any activity from the squirrels was amazing to me, now, imma trying to think if i should go back and hunt this afternoon,or full day on the marra... :notsure:

@six5crèéd does that deer hoist you hook up to bumper, does it ratchet down the same as up?

    Ohio's gun opener today.....

Snowed overnight so had about an inch everywhere, which would have made seeing a deer easier in spite of the wind/blowing snow. If only there were any deer!!!! Only saw a few squirrels and ZERO deer. Minimal shooting, except at the lake for sky carp (geese). Froze my ass off even with merino wool undies, heated boot insoles, and hand warmers. Made it to 11:30 when the wind chill finally got up to 20 degrees!! Got until Sunday, so there's still a chance. One of the slowest openers in Ohio I have seen recently.

Also, first day deer hunting this year since I gave up archery (after 45 +/- years) and gave my crossbow to my son. He had, knee surgery in early August (torn ACL and Meniscus) so he is taking the year off to play it safe.
