So my dealer says that the TSB does not cover my two wheel drive standard cab automatic Taco. Anyone else get this?

The OEM spring TSB is over or around $2000 with the dealers labor I believe.......I'd say most would tell ya to go aftermarket...lots of info with different directions to go with it....just spend some time on TW and look around, it will pay off for ya....
The TSB says on the first page AC and DC, which leaves out the std. cab. I think a few may have got lucky and got it done. Maybe try to sweet talk another dealer....

Just dropped off my 08 to get the tsb done in santa rosa, CA. Talked to Dan at Freeman Toyota and showed him the TSB pdf. He took a look at it and asked me where I got it and then just ordered the parts...this was about 2 weeks ago...anyways they got the parts in and i am going to pick up my truck from them later this evening. Hopefully they did it right. I'll let you all know how it rides. THanks for the Heads up on this!

Hello all, picked up my tacoma with the tsb done and it drives waaayyyy better than it used to. I have an 08 sr5 and they replaced the shocks, springs and added rear leafs so my rides feels completely different. Not so soft. Just made me realize how spongy the stock sr5 shocks were.

is there a difference in the sr5 (stock) springs vs the new ones that i got? just wondering...also, i am noticing now that the driver side sits lower than the passanger side...i know that i read about this somewhere but can someone refresh my memory...whats going on? thanks

Here are the part numbers...hope this helps out someone. () = Quantity

My '09 had the same part numbers affected by the TSB. I hadn't hauled anyting yet so I hadn't experienced the problem, but I took it to the dealer and they did it for me - no questions asked.

'09 is not on the TSB yet, so you'll have to be nice and ask politely, they aren't obligated to do it until the TSB is updated......

+1. I just told them what I "experienced" (harsh ride when loaded) and mentioned that I read about a TSB. I had it ready to prove, but he accepted it with just that.

So, pull out the PDF when the other stuff fails and you have to be a little more stern. :)

    Good luck!

Hey Will, just measured it up and the passenger side is definitely higher than the drivers. Front P is about 1/2in and rear P is 3/4in. I am taking it into toyota tomorrow morning. I'll ask them about it and let you know. Gotta take it in anyways cuz they didn't do my alignment...said it wasn't necessary. Great, i get to waste more time.
    I'll let you know tomorrow...

Went to the dealer yesterday with my 09 TRD off road and they ordered the rear springs. Had to take the TSB to show them, but there was no argument after they saw it.

Hey Will, just got back from the dealership...got my alignment done in record time...only 3 hours:mad:. Anyways, asked the service manager about the lean and he said that he hadn't seen it before but it looks ok....was not to happy about that since i was sitting there from 8-11. told me to come back later so that someone else can look at it. Sorry i know that doesn't help much. I'll let you know when i find out more about it. Keep me posted also! thanks
    have a good one.
