Give Tucson a look. A lot cheaper than Phx, few degrees cooler, plenty of outdoor recreation, fewer job opportunities but you can land somewhere nice if you’re willing to look. $400k will get you plenty of house in a good neighborhood.

Edit: RTX loves vets and is always hiring IT. I can set you up with a referral if/when you are ready to look.

Factor in those summer APS electric bill rates too. That's truck mod money there. o_O

Scottsdale Costco off Hayden is 2.60ish lately. I can fill the tank for around $40. Definitely beats the $90 plus per tank I paid in CA while out there this summer. A bit of drive north for you though.

I like the snow tho. And city living just isnt for me. I would rather spend 3 hours driving at 65mph over a hour and a half traveling at 2mph in traffic.
:humble:I do this so all of you have a mountain cabin to escape to in the summer. and a nice shop for mod days. <3 love you.

We have the last few gas stations before you leave Maricopa County headed north.

Our cheapest is $3.29 at Circle K right now and that's down from about $3.60 / $3.70 where it normally is and because its the cheapest, it's also gone pretty quick.
Then we are on to the other stations around here at $3.50ish - Down from the $3.90 range.
And then there is the Shell Station at New River Road and I-17. The absolute last gas station in Maricopa County at $4.09 right now. This summer it was up around $4.70 at times. And I see people lined up to buy it too. Not sure why. Shell isn't giving a reach around or anything as far as I'm aware. Not even holding you for a little after you fill up.

It's absolutely BONKERS what people will pay for gas up here. I try to time my fill ups when I'm down in town. I can get gas around $2.79 to $3.19 in town. Costco and Fry's help.

What I don't understand is, why is gas so cheap in Prescott, AZ? It's usually about 50 cents a gallon less than here and that gas had to drive past us an hour to get to Prescott. Don't tell me it's the cheaper real estate that the gas station sits on. Prescott is on par with Scottsdale for homes and land prices. Does Yavapai County charge that much less tax that they can afford to drive the gas further and sell it for less?

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
Not a local, so enjoy my secondhand "knowledge," but I've been told that the disparity in pricing during the hot season is due to 'Summer blend' fuel additives to prevent it from breaking down when stored in the tanks.

Not sure how much of that holds water, but regardless, travelling into the valley with the good stuff is going to cost more than getting it up North, since it's all coming in to the desert, not coming out of this one.

Pretty sure Maricopa County requires the use of a specific gas blend which doesn't create as much smog as the "regular" blends, and it is unfortunately more expensive. Rest of the state doesn't really have to worry about that, so they just get the cheap blends.

Knew there had to be more to it than simply a temp issue. Definitely helped me to justify why the prices dropped during the cooler months, though. :anonymous:

As the copilot on this day, this is an actual representation of what happened. I almost felt bad for the three SxS we roosted and passed, but they were being dumb fucks and stopping mid-trail to talk every half mile after passing us. They did not enjoy the ride out

SxS douches always seem to follow the 10:30 rule...10 minutes of WOT driving, then 30 minutes of parking on the trail to drink Bud Light.

You can get a weekdays only season pass for $249-349 depending on how many days per week that you want. $249 is for 1 day and they let you choose which day you want. Pretty cool if you are a student that doesnt have class on a particular day or you work and have a day off mid week. Otherwise $349 for all 5 weekdays is a really good deal for a season pass. I think season pass sales might end today for the season so hurry if you are interested ha.

A bunch of the shop guys went out to Florence over the weekend. camping, dirtbikes, SxS..etc. They had a big rollover and one passenger got ejected and had to get airvac'd out on Friday. Couple others sustained injuries as well. She is showing signs of recovery but she broke a ton of bones, has internal and head injuries and even partially paralyzed.

Fuck SxS's and most of the people who own/drive them.

Stupid hurts because it is supposed to.

SxSs get a false sense of security from their cages, not understanding they arent going to protect them at speed

Also multipoint harnesses dont do shit if they arent buckled

yeah.. shitty for sure. But thats exactly it.. play stupid games, win stupid prizes. SxS's definitely make people a race car driver when they dont have driver skill to begin with.. or common sense. Its just a "toy" to some.

Anybody have a 40" tire for a 17" wheel laying around? It can be worn out or in bad shape. Just need it for test fitting something.
