What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Plus one. I'm a sucker for pockets and cubbys. I would love to make the drivers side rear fender a storage spot. There is a crap ton of space in there - I pushed a 10l Scepter water jug in there from underneath. I may still figure out a way to mount that.

 

access cab rear storage / sleeping platform. makes the rear useable and gives my dog room to lay

 

I’m honestly shocked at how well it fits

 

I have been thinking about mounting a propane tank up in there myself. Might even be able to fit 2 10 gallon tanks.

I though about that as well. Ran it past a few buddies and there was consensus that propane should probably be mounted in a visible spot so if you are in an accident, First responders can see that it is there and deal with it appropriately.

I decided water was a better idea for a hidden location.

 

My t-fer output seal to the rear shaft has a developed a drip, headed in for repair Thursday 30k on a 2023

 

I’m thinking that paired with an anytime locker equals bald tires!

 

lol yeah. That's a part of the selling point is using the locker in 2wd but I can't think of a single reason I would ever need to do so. sounds like broken parts having too much fun. I've used it a few times just today and it's a lifesaver for maneuverability without the front end pushing and pulling around.

 

I'm not too shocked after the 1st time I popped the hood on mine and was like damn, you could almost fit a big block in there, the 90 degree DOHC engines take up a lot of room... I think if you were just doing a LS swap into a 2wd it would be way easier...

Former first responder here, and you’re awesome for even having considered that scenario. Concur with your assessment. You rock.

 

Had something similar happen in a previous Jeep JK, was driving down the highway and the headlights started to flicker and the cluster freaked out before everything just went dead on the cluster, Jeep just kept trucking along though.

Wasn't actually a dying battery, ended up being a loose battery connection and the Jeep ECU can go wacky if it doesn't get the right voltages.

 

Hopefully mine is more simple.

 

Made oil change and installed 3 degree rear axle shims. Un-installed CB drop kit. No vibration now. Nice.

 

I got it on eBay. Had to look for a while. Came from AZ.

 

That is part of my concern as well. Biggest concern is it is not the greatest spot for collision risk. It would be a small tank that is only installed for camping and not so different than where propane is stored on RVs and trailers. In many ways safer than my enclosed bed although there are places for it to drain there as well.
