I'm not too shocked after the 1st time I popped the hood on mine and was like damn, you could almost fit a big block in there, the 90 degree DOHC engines take up a lot of room... I think if you were just doing a LS swap into a 2wd it would be way easier...
    Keep up the good work..

Former first responder here, and you’re awesome for even having considered that scenario. Concur with your assessment. You rock.

Had something similar happen in a previous Jeep JK, was driving down the highway and the headlights started to flicker and the cluster freaked out before everything just went dead on the cluster, Jeep just kept trucking along though.

Wasn't actually a dying battery, ended up being a loose battery connection and the Jeep ECU can go wacky if it doesn't get the right voltages.

Made oil change and installed 3 degree rear axle shims. Un-installed CB drop kit. No vibration now. Nice.

That is part of my concern as well. Biggest concern is it is not the greatest spot for collision risk. It would be a small tank that is only installed for camping and not so different than where propane is stored on RVs and trailers. In many ways safer than my enclosed bed although there are places for it to drain there as well.

Long time member, 1st time poster it looks like... What are you wanting to do with it?

My 1st mod was drop steps, LED bed lights and gas cap holder... My last mod was the VTAILS...

Are you looking for form over function, or function over form or both function and form??
Are you looking for off roading, or just daily driving it??

Lots of grey areas in your question...

installed the TRO pro tail lights with the VLED vtails kit yesterday, very happy with it... but 2 questions...

the LED bulbs didnt "snap" in like regular do (tried them both ways), is that an issue? dont want them to shake loose..

the OEM assys were so hard to pull loose, i assume due to that extra grommet on the bottom metal guide. should that be swapped over to the new assys? new assys very loose until screws put in.

As long as it was a bit of a tight fit, you should be OK, nothing there to really snap into place, as long as they are not just loose...

I am more worried about the sockets falling out of the housings than anything else, nothing locks them in place.. But I haven't heard of it happening yet so I won't worry to much about it...

If the bottom grommet can be swapped over then yes, swap it over... I just thought they were made that way, never looked at them that hard, had my taillamps out 3 times for different reasons in a couple months, hard to pop out every time, feel like I am gonna break something... lol

The first pull is ridiculous. I sold someone a shell and he pulled his tail for the 3rd brake light, it took him a while… I showed him my drivers side, which was missing the bottom screw post (there’s a lot behind that lamp). The bottom grommet likes to stay with the taillight on my truck.

Yeah in a 2wd it would be a pretty smooth process. The only reason I had to cut into the cab was to clock the t case almost completely flat. Skids should run from trans to t case crossmember about 1/2” below the frame rails. So really flat belly compared to stock
