    Hi,

I'm hoping some people here might be able to help me. My father passed away a couple of years ago and left me his 2002 Toyota Tacoma V6 3.4 4X4 extended cab that was in excellent condition. My Dad made sure it was dealer serviced from new following the recommended services. When he got sick with cancer I didn't actually realize how sick he was until I got his truck and found the tires, brakes and a few things really needed to be fixed. He kept the maintenance up on my step mom's Rav but I'm guessing didn't have the energy to do both.

I had just gotten a new vehicle shortly before my Dad passed so I only really drove the Tacoa in the winter. My son now is getting his license, hopefully by the end of the year. Everything has been fixed with one exception. The driver side seat belt is frayed in half. I've contacted Toyota in Vancouver, BC and the item is discontinued. I checked with US dealerships as well and they do not have any either. I been searching auto wreckers and facebook ads but cannot find the driver side seat belt anywhere.

What can I do if I cannot find the seat belt for it. I see aftermarket ones for sale on ebay but hesitant to buy something as important as a seat belt for a truck my son will drive that is after market from ebay.

Does anyone have any suggestions on any options I have.

    Ryan

There are companies that will rebuild and/or put new belts in the existing mechanism, if that is acceptable to you. They do come with a guarantee. You might want to search for those. I personally have no issue with a used seat belt from Ebay, especially if they are no longer available from Toyota, but that's me.

Sorry to hear about your dad. You can grab a seatbelt from a junkyard as well, it’s an easy swap. The alternative is using a rebuild service like stated above
