Gun shots disturb them less than you think... I dropped these from the same stand 30 minutes apart a couple years back (I did drag the coyote to get them in one pic they were probably 150 yard apart at time of death)

Thanks. Got several rem 700s I use myself. Got my son a Bergara b14 a few years back for first deer rifle and very impressed. Same rem style action and stock looks almost exactly like that. Prob and up with one myself unless they start making 700s again.

How is shooting a coyote going to scare a deer any more than the coyote itself? I’ve had as many as 12-15 maybe 20 deer in a field until a coyote or two show up and the deer scatter in all directions and start snorting and blowing. I’ve seen more coyotes chasing deer this year than ever before, fawns and mature deer alike. I’ve had coyotes screw up plenty of hunts without shooting at them. As stated above the best coyote is a dead coyote!

I get what you’re saying, I think the areas these guys are hunting are much different than where you or I probably hunt. I personally don’t shoot coyotes when I’m hunting deer unless I’m certain my hunt is over. With whitetails in tree stands and food plots a lot of guys will shoot multiple deer in a day from them so cranking off a round doesn’t scare the deer like it would if you backpacked into a canyon for Muleys.

Holy shit, what a site. Love those 2 mounts to the right in the top photo. Super tall browtines on 1 and super wide rack on the other. And all the beards! So cool

IDK. I hunt where there are both a shit load of coyotes and deer. Adult deer don't seem concerned with the coyotes and I'm sure the coyotes take their fair share of fawns. Yet when I go into the woods there are a shit load of both coyotes and deer. I guess I live in a weird corner of the multiverse.

The other weird thing is I work next to a state park. No hunting. On any given day I see more deer than coyotes. I must be living in a simulation no one else here is living in. The coyotes I do see are unconcerned with my presences. Like I was changing a cup one morning and looked over and about 20 yrds away was a coyote looking back at me.
