    Hey guys!
My wife’s 2016 Tacoma just started making a clicking noise when she turns on the heater fan and it also has a burning plastic smell. Where should I start on problem solving this? Please help

Pull out the filter in the glove box. You likely have a nut shell or something like that. Pull out filter carefully. Also check the fan itself.

I have a gen 2, but this happened to me one time and a leaf had somehow worked itself into the fan and was clicking on every rotation... no idea how it got that far. Here is to hoping your problem is that simple, but plastic smell means, probably not. Have you gotten into the fan to look for physical obstructions, behind the glovebox? Quick general location for reference from a random video. Disconnect battery before any removal or testing.

Amazing! Thank you. Just needed to open it up and vacuum out the filter and fan.
